well the dats are a long list, i havnt been through the whole list yet but i can send you a dat file so you can have a read if you would like. I do know thunder heroes is new on there, its a pretty good platformer by the way of final fight. defense is new as well as aurail, the unprotected version of thunder blade is on here but i cannot get the heli to take off from the ground, perhaps it has not been keymapped yet. HF- Thanks, I have the new DATS, but FBA comprises 900+ sets. With the FBAxxx files on your PC, look in the skins folder and resize any 640x480 images up to 1920x1080 so they will fit the screen in 1080i. 720p is better picture quality than 1080i (except for stills), so you may want to just use that instead, in which case you would need to resize the images to 1280x720. There were a handful of 720p FBA skins floating around somewhere but I just resized the original skin, works just fine. Also, you can stretch and resize the screen as needed, in the options menu. The video mode bug is present in all versions of FBAxxx too so if your screen locks up when switching modes then it's 'normal'. As a workaround, launch a rom and then change to 720p/1080i. Could you post a list of newly added games? My FBA sets are all on DVD (xiso) so I can't copy them to PC to scan them with clrmame. I'd have to copy them to Xbox hdd and then ftp over to PC which would take a long time. I know of Power Drift, Raiden, Galaxy Force 2 and E-Swat. Thanks!

Pretty much all the games should be fine as they are, if not - Sound Y/N - Some of the games have sound disabled, others don't have sound either way. If it has sound there is no need to say anything. Keymapping - Most games are 2 button. We are aiming to map all those to A (Button 1) and B (Button 2). If they aren't then leave a note to say so. If a game feels too sensitive, eg some Steering Wheel/Dial games, then mention it. Or some games aren't/weren't mapped to the d-pad or stick, eg Arkanoid was mapped to the L/R triggers, then mention that also. Speed - If you know for a fact that the game isn't running as it should, ie as it does in Mame for the PC, then say Sluggish. If it is then BP can eliminate the sound to see if it runs any better. No sound + game is better than no game at all. Non-English - I noticed that some games used the Japanese rom when the perfectly good World/US variant was available and working. If you notice that the rom is indeed Japanese/Asian or whatever then say so. Even though these roms will likely have NO non-english text, we are aiming to stick to US or World if possible. Apparently it only works with v1.8 using BIOS. I tried it but no luck, so I tried 1.9, still nothing, just keeps rebooting. Then I remembered I had the really old v1 that I used for Harvest Moon and bingo, it worked! The format shouldn't matter as long as it's IMG, BIN or ISO. Try it with ePSXe first to make sure it works at all. Also mdf/mds is Alcohol's format and is the least compatible format but it does work sometimes. You could just convert the mdf to ISO or whatever anyway, with UltraISO or something similar.

I haven't had the need to use the dats at all. The roms work as is. I'm assuming the extra roms included in the dats are if you wish to add games off your own bat. 100s of games are compatible with CoinOPs that have been removed for various reasons, or have yet to be added. But the roms included with the builds are all working 100%.

Lol. I know you know. That's why I said it wasn't directed at you. It was a subtle hint to other people to dig in and test a few more games out to get this rolling along a lot quicker

The whole point of the Refined build was to go through every game that we have so far, and make sure that they all work as well as can be expected. The problem is that there are still 700 or so games to be tested. I have personally tested around 70 games, though my Xbox has been down for the past few days, it is working now, so I will resume testing tonight. There won't be a release until they are all tested. So even if BP has got every game in the history of the world working, the build will not be available until then. That wasn't a dig at you fu, just a general update

I've been grabbing a lot of movies in HD recently and I stumbled upon the Indy trilogy. I didn't think twice about it, as I just remembered it as a really good set. Hmm. I felt like I was forcing myself to watch them though, especially the third. Definately not as good as I used to think they were. I'll still watch this latest installment nonetheless

I only ever really played SF2/MK2 in 2 player. Saturday Night Slam Masters and Super Bomberman were great in 4 player with the multitap though.

I'm not into RTS, but the one I played to death was Settlers 2. Not much action, pretty laid back. The 10th Anniversary Edition brought it all up to date. Good stuff.

Wow, that's quite a break in between builds. Must give it a go. It'll be interesting to see which games are working now compared to 1.6, if any.

Even with the current exchange rates, a game costs virtually double that in the UK compared to the US. Then again, it's not exactly limited to games, it pretty much encompasses all merchandise. Time to move!

It runs from the hdd just fine. Mine is ISO/MP3 IIRC. You just run the ISO and off it goes!

Probably the biggest gaming outlet GAME, here in the UK, most new releases retail for £40-45 which puts them around the $110AUS mark. Nothing new here. Even the massive retail outlet Tesco debuted GTA4 at £45. That's the standard. Even with the dollar weakened we are still at a big disadvantage. I do not like.

As Kenshiro said, just run your roms through Romcenter using the FBAxxx dat from 1.28, then you won't have to change versions. Every time you change versions some other roms will likely get 'broken'. If you just do this one scan and fix what needs fixed now then you will be sorted. Btw, any roms that you are having difficulties with, you could post their size+contents for other members to compare with. Good luck

There are simply too many good games on CPS2 it would be embarrassing for me to mention anything else. It has the best 2D sidescrollers, D&D, Battle Circuit, AvP; the best 2D fighters MvC, X-Men Vs SF, SFA3; some great shmups like Progear, Mars Matrix, Gigawing; honourable mentions go to Mighty Pang, Super Gem Fighter Minimix, Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo and Puzz Loop 2.

The older Mameox builds can be grabbed from Sourceforge. If they are of any use to you Also, if anyone wants to poke about and see if any games have been added later than 0.84, or fixed since 0.84 then use MAWS. Use the 'cumulative changes' dropdown boxes to search for more recent games. For example, in 'cumulative changes since' I chose .125, and 'until' chose .125u1. In the results list you can look for 'version' and this will give the version of Mame in which it was added. This does not necessarily mean that the game itself was added at that version, just that particular set, but if you check through some of them you will find genuinely newly added games. In that example you will find a game called 'Pit Boss Superstar'. It is from 1990, and has low specs, so in theory it could be added. There are 100s more like this if you take a little time to search. You should narrow the search by choosing 'good' driver status, and you could always narrow it down by your favourite genre too. I don't use much else other than Zsnesbox, except PCSXBox 1.9, CoinOPS+ and FBAxxx 1.28. They are all the latest versions. Latest Zsnesbox is IIRC 3.3.

When he is white use black instead, you will kill him much quicker, and vice versa. You should be able to manage to down him with 65-70 or so on the clock.
