  1. There's always Cassini, if you can get a hold of it
  2. There are XP drivers for all your components. As for the warranty, only a read-through will tell you if changing OS will make any difference, I seriously doubt it though.
  3. You can already play these with Mameox v0.72.1b which is freely available to download, and doesn't conflict with other versions of Mame that you may be using eg CoinOps. /broken.record
  4. I don't even have a PSP so I don't care either way.. but why when people ask about modding a PSP, are they always directed towards guides that specify you need an already hacked PSP to start off? Wtf! Is there no way to just hack one by itself? I was thinking about getting one myself.
  5. Moralities? (Don't forget those potential Babalities/Friendships!)
  6. Wow, that's harsh. There's barely a scrap of anything on her legs! Anna Ohura
  7. I was playing some buggy-as-hell RTS called XIII : Death or Glory. Crashed that much I can't give an honest opinion of it!
  8. Technically the MK series was never a patch on the likes of SF anyway. Take away the blood/fatalities etc and it was pretty mediocre. Don't get me wrong, I think I sold a kidney at the time to buy it for the SNES, and loved it; but as a straight fighter it wasn't even as deep as half the old NeoGeo stuff.
  9. From one of the guys responsible for Last Hope, a side-project as he has called it. Here is the only screenshot so far, no other details as yet.
  10. Royal Rumble on the SNES. I played this to death all those years ago. Extremely basic and limited by today's standards. Well, I assumed this because the last wrestling game I played was WCW/NWO on the N64 which wasn't much more advanced. I went and got a copy of the latest WWE game just to compare and it is a world apart. The control system is going to take some getting used to though. I'll have to dig out RR on the DC, I know I have it here somewhere. Which is the best of the modern wrestling games with a Royal Rumble feature, aside from Smackdown vs Raw 08?
  11. Was in a bit of a Leslie Nielsen mood. Dug out Repossessed and Spy Hard. Neither that great but a few laughs. Topped it off with some classic sci-fi, again with Mr Nielsen, Forbidden Planet. Yes, a bit dated, but still a good show.
  12. How about sudden slowdowns? I noticed that sometimes games freeze every now and then for a few seconds, while I'm using SurrealXXX. Like PCSXbox, there are several versions of Surreal, some allowing better compatibility with certain games than other versions. Also sometimes it is necessary to tweak the settings for a number of games, not to mention choosing which of the 3 in-built engines best suit the game you are trying to launch. Incomplete Surreal compatibility list from XS
  13. As long as I can play Freecell I'm happy Sounds pretty good, though I'm no expert. For me, too many of these newer games are marketed towards a minority of folks. Overclocked quad cores with 3 gigs of PC3-15000 RAM and dual 9600GTs etc etc
  14. FF7 I have barely played but it runs almost flawlessly. Tekken 3 I haven't played since I owned the original way back when.
  15. It works on mine and I think mine is a v7 (PAL). But it's pretty much useless for me as 95% of the games I would want to play are NTSC-J and I have no Breaker Pro. Not to worry though as I can play almost all them via PCSXbox
  16. It does, AFAIK only certain fat models. Also IIRC it only works with games from your own region, hence the need for the Breaker Pro for imports.
  17. Definately get the HD cables, I got mine from Game about a year ago, well worth the money. Database of 720p/1080i Xbox games. Very, very few support 720p+ as you can see from that list. I think some games even have 720p cutscenes but not in-game eg. Scarface. Some emus do have 720p/1080i in game not just the GUI. One of the reasons people use FBAxxx for CPS, NeoGeo is precisely because it allows 720p/1080i, which currently Mame emus do not. Some others do too eg. Zsnes. Bear in mind the games don't look that much better as they are just upscaled to 720p, they aren't natively HD.
  18. Mandrake was the very first distro I tried out some years ago now, though I haven't tried it in it's new incarnation yet. I never understood the preference for Gnome myself so I always lent towards KDE-based distros, especially Mepis, or any Debian distro for that matter.
  19. Will this update be released as a patch or as another full release? I'm sure people don't want to have to download all those roms again Maybe keep the new roms and emu separate, or even supply a txt file with whatever new roms have been added, so I can just grab the updated emu and add the roms myself from my own sets?
  20. Did +T+ not say that collating all the menus into one was already possible by going into the UI settings? As for the 'best' version, that's entirely up to you. It is a lot harder with CPS and NeoGeo romsets because of the massive amount of bootlegs for SF, KOF etc etc. You can go in and simply delete the clones yourself, only keeping the ones you want.
  21. Why use Outlook? I only use Gmail and Operamail myself so spam is minimal. What about Thunderbird?
  22. It requires two steps, both easy Convert pmf to avi - This guide crops up all over the place You can ignore the audio portions of the conversion since you are only interested in ultimately outputting a gif. Once you have the avi then there are many programs to convert to gif. I once used Riverpast Video Cleaner (I think). Google around and you will find many alternatives. Good luck
  23. I have used Bleem in the past but AFAIK it doesn't handle any game better than PCSXbox, so I don't use it any more. Plus it keeps all my emus together on one console if I use PCSXbox. I still keep my DC active though with Karous, Radilgy etc Yeah, I play Guwange on FBA too, just I only have the Xbox pad and it's not great for shooters, well I don't think so. I have a PS2 to USB converter so I can use my PS2 pad on my PC. Although the likes of DoDonPachi are fully playable on FBA, sometimes the home ports are just as good, if not better, adding bonus ships/levels etc. Einhander was quality but R-Type Final was dull as hell. R-Type Leo or Delta would be my favourites, though I played the original to death in the arcades so it's up there too.
  24. Let's Go to Prison Great little comedy with Will Arnett of Arrested Development fame. A nice mixture of brutal/subtle jokes which doesn't fade away like 95% of other comedies. The Lost Weekend Pretty much the polar opposite of the above. Portrayal of an alcoholic in forties America. Oscar-winning performance from Ray Milland. Sort of depressing, but gripping too and ultimately uplifting.
  25. It does play games from disc - iso, bin/cue etc. Just burn as a Data disc in Nero and there you have it. Wow, he sounds really smart You don't have to mess about with the settings for the majority of the games. The ones that you do it is a one-off instance, as the config is saved for each individual game. Don't let that minor niggle put you off a superior emulator. The settings are there to enable a much broader and more accurate emulation experience. Most of the times it's only a fix for choppy FMV anyway. I don't usually play mame on my PC either but the fact is that a lot of mame ( and N64, PSX etc ) games don't run as they should. Games that you class as playable are maybe only running at 70/80%. I keep Mame32 for games that don't run properly like Raiden Fighters/RF Jet, games that don't have an available port like Guwange, or games that have been added/bug-fixed since the 0.84 Xbox core, like Batsugun.
