filerush.com has torrents for a number of the E3 trailers, including Gran Turismo and Killzone. Edit: And I'll be damned if Killzone isn't the best looking thing so far, by far. I'd have to play it to believe that was in-game footage though - based on content more than graphics. Quite nice.

PlayStation 3 Officially Announced for 2006

I imagine that you will be able to use a combination of wireless and wired controllers to achieve an even 8 players simultaneously, but of course that's just a guess. -

From what little hype they've put out, it sounds like they've realized this. Vee shall see. -

Everyone's money is going for sony. 360 was good, but then sony showed what it had to offer, still don't know how many gigs PS3's HD is gonna have if it even has one >.< <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It has a detachable 2.5" HD. It sounds like it might be a standard drive (IE, swappable with standard 2.5" drives), but there's no telling yet. They haven't said how big it will be, but 20gigs (isn't that what the 360 has?) wouldn't be that hard to beat if they wanted to. -
If all you want is the game, get the cheapest one. All of the Editor's Choice Edition stuff, like the extra maps and vehicles, are available for download from the UT2K4 site for free. If you're hoping to edit the game - make maps, mods, etc - then you might consider the Editor's Choice Edition for the video tutorials. I have to say though, there are a TON of free resources out there for editing Unreal, and I'd be surprised if you couldn't download those videos somewhere, so if it's a huge price difference I wouldn't bother. May I humbly suggest a breakdown by system for E3 news?

Bwahahaha, perfect. Sony fights fire (crap) with fire (crap). Those two games are the perfect competitors because they both have insane appeal to casual gamers. They're both kind of worn out on hardcore gamers, but it's going to be an interesting showdown nonetheless.

Well, the XBox360 wireless controllers will charge when they're plugged in with a USB cable. I suspect the PS3 controllers will do the same, since it's not that hard to implement and the system has the ports for it. Hell, I charge my GBA SP from my PS2's USB ports all the time. I agree on the controller, I'm not that keen on it - but as long as it's more comfortable than it looks, I won't mind. As for the system - I rather like the sleek, unobtrusive look. It looks more like a serious piece of electronics than the 360s "one step up from an IMac" appearance. I mean, is the big, gaudy green circle really necessary? It all comes down to personal taste though. Humor: http://homepage.mac.com/stevyn/images/ps3grill.jpg Edit: In retrospect, if they added fresh-grilled, juicy burgers in 20 minutes to the PS3's feature list, I don't think I'd mind so much. -

There's a pic of the controller up now at the above pics link. I'm a little dissapointed about it, but I'll reserve final judgement until I hold it. Edit - Ok, I refreshed and htere's a new pic now. Just keep checking that link I guess. -

Damn that is slick. A slot-loading disc drive and no visible frontside ports (though they might be hidden under the bump to the left of the drive). Interesting.. All three colors are quite sexy, and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who noticed the spider-man font. It's not all gaudy looking like the 360, and should blend nicely into an entertainment center. It also looks fairly small, based on the outlets on the back. It has 3 rj45 connectors - one input and two outputs - according to those specs. Anyone know why you'd need to specify like that? It also had wifi connectivity with the PSP. And damn that's a good list of developers. This should be a good few years for gamers. Edit: Just noticed - no holes. How are they cooling this beast? Even water-cooling needs holes, doesn't it? -
I was impressed to find that crossbow bolts actually richochet at accute angles.

Interesting.. I wonder how the 3.2 cell is going to stack up against the other systems' multiple power-pc based chips (speculated for NR). Seems like it wouldn't have killed them to kick the system RAM up to 512, but I'll see what they can do with it before I start bitching. What's an SD slot? And 7 controllers? 7? Why not a nice even-teams 8? That said.. bluetooth = sexy. And you left out this beauty: -
One of each? Along with a f**cking FULL game for once since the 16bit era maybe? (By full I mean a FULL RETAIL copy with box and manual, not the paper sleeve missing everything crap) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Doubtful on both counts.
-
Final Fight - Did they just rename that other brawler they were working on?
-
Damn, that is quite a mighty screenshot. Definately one to keep an eye on.
-
The controller looks sexy, but the pad itself looks to be just as unwieldy as the existing xbox pad. And the magic-box preview suggests that there will be wired-only controllers as well. Which will come in the box, I wonder?
-
They'll keep milking it forever. As long as threads like this exist and people get excited from every scrap SNK throws out, they'll keep taking advantage. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Meh. While I'd like to see some more innovation, the last few have been good solid fun. I can understand getting tired of them, but new 2D fighters are a rare breed these days, so I get my fix where I can.
-
Doesn't surprise me at all really. Just like them to overhype another half-assed title to try and shut out the competition.

Anyone know of a decent calendar program? I tried Mozilla's Sunbird, but it's just not full-featured enough yet. Basically, I just want a simple, small footprint program that will let me: 1) View the whole month at a time, with all relevant events, etc in view. 2) Mark tasks with due dates and times, both visible in a monthly view, and preferably color-coded how I'd like - manually is fine. 3) View a list of tasks, in which you can check off tasks as done, and have them dissapear or change appearance on the calendar. I'd prefer some kind of indicator that shows how much time is left on a task (like maybe a colored bar from the current date to the due date), but that might be a stretch. Any suggestions?

That is so a fake, but whoever made it is hired!

I didn't draw the "agents team" connection, nice. The Ash team still seems arbitrary, but it always kind of did. Duck seems like an odd man out with Kim and Terry - I always thought he was a bad guy? Another one of Kim's convicts? hehe.. Griffon teaming up with outlaws? Why does Kasumi hold a grudge against Ryo and Marin? What the heck do Ryo and Marin have to do with each other? Forgive me for not pouring through miles of story FAQ. And I thought Eiji was dead - have they explained that yet? Who the heck is Momoko? Edit: And I just realized - No Mai!
-
I don't entirely understand some of the teams, but it looks like a good roster overall. People mostly seem to be impressed with it. I'm anxious now.
