1. Dude, you know we have a "spoiler" tag now, right? Hehe.. Just encase the spoiler in
and
. It's more effective and less annoying. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I always forget how to use it maybe GC should just put a tab like what he did witht he image tab at the top <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think he added that, did he? It looks like a part of UBB.
2. Great, now I have to change my pants.
3. Ok, I play all FPS games with inverted controls, but what in the world compelled you to use a mouse upside down for Q3?

5. why would u do something retarded like that? u know they make arcade sticks for true 2d arcade fans right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well, yes, arcade sticks are nice too if that's your thing. Between the price, the awkward way you have to hold them, and the fact that they're only good for certain types of games, I don't really like at-home arcade sticks myself. They also make it harder to introduce newbies to 2d fighters, which I find myself doing more and more frequently - they get especially frustrated with a stick for some reason. In the arcade, I dig 'em, but at home I'll stick with a pad. As far as pads go, there's never been a better one than the dual shock for 2D fighters, as far as I'm concerned.
6. Is the not-on-ps2 news confirmed in any way, or just based on the fact that Sony has been a bunch of complete idiots about 2d games? And don't forget to buy some adapters and dual shocks in order to actually enjoy 2d fighters on your new bill-box.
7. I broke down and watched the db sub of 133. It is easily the most action packed episode in a long time, and has some of the best fighting ever to grace the series. Fair warning, this spoiler contains the phrase: "Sonic the Transvestite Hedgehog."
8. Maybe this is old news, but a friend and I just discovered http://www.rpgfan.com. I haven't thoroughly browsed yet, but the "pictures" section is freaking awesome. There is a lot of concept art there. My personal favorites so far is the complete, hand-drawn version of the Ogre Battle Tarot (Major Arcana only, of course).
9. This is kind of neat. Hard to tell until I've played a few days though. Here's my nation: http://www.nationstates.net/cgi-bin/index..../nation=jurojin We should start a region or something... Though I'm not entirely sure what that does.
10. I thought it was a solid review. If I had to critique it, I'd say it might not have been critical enough - but if you really liked the game that much, then one wouldn't expect it to be terribly critical, right? All in all, an excellent review. I felt informed enough to decide to give the series a chance, while not feeling like I'd been run down by the fanboy bus.
11. Sounds like it's going to be difficult, but I'll see what I can arrange.
12. I've always written the DMC games off as fanboy fodder, but this one actually sounds like fun. Question(s): How often do you really change "styles?" Is it the kind of thing where you'll pick one or two and stick with them, or do you need all 4+ to get through different situations? I ask because it sounds like this could add some replay value - if each style is suitably complex.
13. An extra lol is in order here.
14. Your family is right, but it does take just a little bit of orientation when you make the switch for the first time. It's unnerving when the instructor is breathing down your neck and your instinct says "shift!," only there's no clutch. Once you pass the test though, knowing how to drive stick is cool because it's fun (you feel more in tune with the car, at least I do) and sometimes it's handy, but you can always use an automatic too (for long trips or, ugh, traffic-heavy commuting).
15. What kind of car are you learning on, Diso? I learned on my manual, rear-wheel drive sports car ('91 miata), then my family insisted I take the test in our automatic, hugemongous station wagon (early 90's camry) because it would be "easier." Long story short, take the test in whatever you learned in, if you can.
16. That was kind of the point of the original post - for people to express their opinions because it's not a serious issue anyway - but it got misinterpreted... I should have put: Edit: Disclaimer added to the original post, so's no one else freaks out.
17. Not bad.. to bad it's colored.. like morrigan's tights..
18. Hmm.. tough to say at this point. The sunlight and water effects are nice, though the water is still a little weird looking. Other than that, it looks about as good as current gen PC stuff - a lot like HL2 to me. The character with the flashlight, who I can only assume is the aforementioned Alan, just looks goofy. That said, I'm all for indy development, and will be keeping an eye on this one.
19. I played this game back on my NES. I rented it more than once, actually. It wasn't terrible, as silly NES games go. I never realized that was supposed to be Ken though.
20. /me suppresses images of batman flexing in the mirror.
21. Yes, much better. Frank Miller is god. I was afraid our team was going to lose another player. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I have Batman: Year One on my bookshelf and Naruto on my hard drive. Does that make me a double agent?
22. Woah, waitaminute! I didn't mean to attack anyone's position, nor start any flaming arguments. In fact, I was agreeing with the most important part of what you said (there's a difference between a fan and a retarted fanboy). I certainly didn't mean anything offensive or even serious by it at all (hence the "this is a pointless debate, but..." disclaimer). Anyhow, I liked what you had said and wanted to give my own expanded opinion, and maybe to see if others had anything to add, that's all. It wasn't even meant to be directed at any one person, just as an opener for open conversation (I mentioned your ava, but only because you were the one that got me thinking about it). Sorry if it got interpreted as an attack of some sort.
23. 90% of the online quizzes I've ever taken have been totally lame for that reason. They might as well just put the name of the characters as the answers, because it's that obvious.
24. I decided to make a seperate topic out of this to avoid careening the already lengthy Naruto thread far off topic. Oh god no...please no! NOT YOU!!!! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Theres a difference between people that like Naruto, and Narutards. People that like Naruto just like watching the show. We don't go to the extreme to putting Naruto in our avatars and sigs and post pictures of us cosplaying in our official naruto underwear. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Edit: Disclaimer: This is simply a rant for the hell of it. Diso's post got me thinking about at what point fandom becomes annoying, and I decided to share my opinion and see what others had to say. This is in no way an important topic, nor a serious attempt to change anyone's mind. That's why it was originally posted in spam. So don't take it too seriously!!! On to the original post: This is a pointless kind of debate, but what the hell. 2 cents: Fandom comes in all shapes and sizes. Only when it gets to tard levels does it become obnoxious (to me). But what constitutes a tard? Is it just LIKING something? That means we're all tards.. Is it having something in your avatar or sig? To me, that's just a way of publicly, and passively, saying "I like this" - like putting a band's sticker in your car window or something. Does that make you (Diso) a Megatard? Or me a King Of Fightard? I dunno.. I personally don't think so.. What makes a tard to me is when fandom becomes obtrusive. Run a fansite? Ok, sure, that's an avoidable situation for non-fans. Ramble endlessly about the exploits of your favorite manga character? That's ok as long as you keep it within your manga-fan circles. Attempt to express yourself solely through physically impossible anime facial expressions and insist that everyone call you kawaii-kun? Yeah, that's a tard situation. To make a native comparison... I have friends who are such Simpsons fans that they can't go a night of hanging out without throwing quotes into normal conversation at least once a night. Now, I like the Simpsons, I'll watch it if it's on, but this is still annoying to me because I'm not a fanatic. It's like if you were having a nice conversation about, I dunno, collect calling services, and all of a sudden someone sprung in with "yeah, just like when sasuke did....." In fact, I would rather them dress up like Simpsons characters and run around, as long as they did it at conventions where other people were into this sort of thing, and which I could opt to avoid.
25. Is that new with 3.2? I could have swore I played Berlin 800000000000000000000 times in a row in 3.1, but I've only done a few rounds of 3.2. And I'm normally on the CiA servers myself. I haven't been on much lately, but my interest was renewed with a LAN party this weekend, so perhaps I'll run into you.
