AMD has really made some strides recently. They used to be mostly "quantity over quality" - being cheaper by the MHz, but running a lot hotter, etc. Nowadays, their stuff is a lot better. The 64s seem nicel (my friend just got one, he digs it), but I'm curious to see what Intel is going to do about them. It's not like them to sit on their asses for too long.

That would be awesome, but would take ages! How many people did you do this with? Just 1 on 1 or on a public server or what? Most of the publics I play on use map voting, and everyone seems to vote for the same maps. Getting artied to death on ponyri is only fun so many times in a row. :\ Speaking of public servers, are there any that you frequent?

A silly thread, but what the heck.. I'd say Cid, just 'cause he's slightly less BS than most of the others. That and he's a dragoon. I've had a soft spot for dragoons since FFII. (Kain is the bestest anything ever) You want quizes? There had to be some out there: http://www.youthink.com/quiz.asp?action=take&quiz_id=793 http://quizilla.com/users/Rayne3242/quizze...20Are%20You%3F/ http://selectsmart.com/FREE/select.php?client=FF7character (popups, bleh) I got Cloud, Cid, and XIII, respectively.

Source. People use guns other than the deagle, MP5, colt, and ak in Source. Not many people, granted, but still much more than in any of the HL1 variants (except back when the PARA 0wned j00). The variety makes it more interesting. All in all though, I'm pretty much done with CS. It's been largely unchanged for far too long to play it regularly anymore. My new love is Red Orchestra.

Having a father that works as an engineer earns us tons of free airmiles! But no, my family says I should visit at least once while I'm still a teen. They also tell me to find better plants, but I'm going with visiting. So your out of luck, although get me some E3 stuff(posters/bags/promoshit) and I'll arrange some things to be sent to you. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Better plants? Like botany, or manufacturing? Or am I missing something? I'm going to see what I can do about E3 stuff. I'll try to get pictures to share with everybody. "Schwag" is a little harder there, because a lot of companies will try to avoid giving you things unless they think you're important, but I'm going to see if I can wrangle up a goodie bag.

Well, I'm starting the summer off with E3, which actually comes before finals week, but nevermind that. Other than that, I need to get a job at some point, maybe hit up a concert or two, and do some programming. I'm attending a university next semester (In Fall. I'm finally done with community college, w00t!), so I might be looking for an apartment to live in while I'm there. If I have any spare time between all that, I'm going to be on Agozer's plan, with a healthy dose of girlfriend in there too, and hopefully enough excercise to lose about 15 pounds. Gotta get back to my fighting weight. Oh yeah, and K'dash, I'll trade you E3 for your Asia trip.

Doesn't that gives a similar feeling to that of poking yourself with pins? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Nope. It's extremely fun and tense. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Amen, sir.

Two New Rules that should clear all this up: 1) If someone screams bloody murder behind the counter at a fast food restauraunt, stop serving food until all employed fingers are accounted for. 2) If you bite into a body part where none are expected, you have to keep it or you can forget about pressing charges. And aren't Big Gulps normally self-serve?

The time of the longest game you've ever played?
Daeval replied to King_krm's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Y'know, I never did try speedrunning Morrowind. I should try it with that FAQ I wrote. This one if you've never seen it. I've been looking for an excuse to play it again. -
Best Game Ever. Ok, maybe that's a little severe, but Hitman does kick some serious ass.

All in all, probably Morrowind on PC. I've put countless hours into that game. At a single stretch, probably Quake 1, TeamFortress (the original), Ogre Battle, or Katamari Damacy (A friend and I marathoned it and beat it as soon as we got it home - about 8 hours). -
I guess the US media aren't the only ones who look for scapegoats. This wasn't the main point of the article, but that it was even mentioned, and with only a very poor appeal to authority as evidence, annoys me. As for the fad itself.. I wonder what the scope of it is? Sexual deviancy isn't anything new anywhere, but the article gives no good indication about this particular phenomenon.

That's how I felt. It eliminated some of the problems, like the long travel times and such, but with them it took the sense of scale and "world" away. As I said before, the instanced-setup made it feel less like a "fantasy world" and more like a 3D graphical match-making service for small team games.

Yeah, that's what it's supposed to be like. I guess I'm the only one here that likes to laugh at other peoples' mistakes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If the mistakes are ironic or something that's one thing, but most of those are the kind of thing you'd report to a site administrator and be done with. I wouldn't go giggling to all my friends if someone had a bad link or missed a pronoun or something.

Shikamaru is the sheezy. I know too many "lazy geniuses" not to like him. Rock Lee is awesome too. Unfortunately, I don't know any ------- ------s.

I have the db release of the movie.. pondering whether or not to wait for the AOne before I watch it. I've been watching AOne from the start, and I like the colloquial flavor they add to the translations. In other news, the sasuke backstory isn't quite as boring as I expected it to be, but I'm still sort of looking forward to its end.

To me they were VERY important. To most others it's just another test. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Depends on how bad you want to get into what college. If you're hoping to go straight to a university, a high SAT score can't hurt your chances at all.

I don't get it. Most of that stuff is hardly noteworthy in any respect, comedic or otherwise. This person should do work for charity or something, since he obviously has a lot of time.

Well, the last 2 days I've been at a LAN party, and now it's time to crack down on schoolwork. I've got a calculus test tommorow and a sociology test on tuesday to study for. I also have art history and "mythology in literature" papers due before the end of the month (neither of which I've started on). I'm also working on finding a job, just something part time to do while I'm working through school, that will work with my school hours. Finally, I'm doing some little self-assigned programming projects for my own personal edification, and to keep my mind fresh in that respect.

Supposedly, a lot of those funky african tribal self-mutilation traditions, like the neck thing and those lip-disks, were introduced to make the women less desireable to slavers. Eventually, the traditions stuck and became standards of beauty for that tribe.

WTF Ok, this looks like a must see. Once, at least.
-
Exactly. Well, almost... I just couldn't think of any except Advance Wars, but there are a few on that list. These all look like they might be decent. I know some of these games are cool in single player, but I'm not sure how multi would work out.

Since when did FF had a concept at all? Every single one of them was "Save the World." What more concept is that. Thats everything a Final Fantasy is. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I meant the style, characters, the plot, the settings. Pretty much everything is set nicely on land, but this outter space thing is just out of the question. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Play FF1, FF6, then FF10 in succession and tell me you really think there's a universal style to the series. Seriously, I know what you mean, but I think one of the cool things about FF is that its storytelling themes work outside of a single physical setting. The storyline in Spirits was not that much different from any of the games (just condensed into roughly 2 hours), but it took it one step further away from a generic "fantasy" setting - even further than 6 and 7's almost steam-punk-ish techno-magic style.

I've also noticed that AOne hasn't been quite as good as when they were working with ANBU. The drop in quality hasn't been enough to make me consider switching though.

I think it's great that old games will be "out there" again, in a more mainstream sense than collecting old carts, but I think they'll have trouble appealing to people who aren't already into old school gaming/emulation. Furthermore, I can see this leading to a crackdown on "rogue" emulation, including those games and systems which aren't going to end up licensed by this company. Good things could come of this (at the very top, a renewed willingness for companies to experiment with different gameplay formulas), but so could bad things. I'm interested to see how the implementation works out.
