There are definately some Virtual Boy fears going on here, but it could be interesting. We'll see.

Well, I started reading the book. Ironically (and entirely unintentionally), my first session ended on page 42. So far, it's good stuff. The humor style reminds me of Good Omens by Gaiman and Pratchett. That makes sense, seeing as Gaiman is a huge fan of Adams.

My bet is that the bottom two are pre-rendered, while the top two might be in-game footage. There is a significant difference in the quality of lighting. Or maybe it's just that the people look like ass.

SS5 is the only one that really floats my boat. KOFN and KOF94R look interesting, but unless KOFN is something spectacular then I'm happy with 99-03 on my PS2. A fighting game is not the kind of game I'd play online, I don't think.

Are the gameboy advance firepro games as good as the rest of the series? I've never played any of them, but I've heard a lot, and the gba ones I could borrow from friends.

I still say Mozilla/the Firefox folks should make an IM app. Light, easily configurable, and modular... That's all we need, not all this AOL crap.

Interesting, but I can't help but feel that it's going to be more bloated and less customizable (from a technical standpoint, not an AOL user's standpoint). This is based mostly on the kinds of PR buzzwords used in that article.

That's some sick twist of fate to have the half-nekkid Dizzy next to THAT abomination. My eyes are going "OOH FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HIT tHE BACK BUTTON! WAIT! wait a sec.. OOH NOO GOD CHANGE IT!" Might be interesting to see what the Jam on the other side looks like too, but two hot cosplayers in one picture is almost definately too much to ask for, even with that thing in the middle to offset the odds.

In an FF game, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE NAMED CID <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Cid's the big one, but there's also the Chocobo imagery, the "rebel good guys" theme, the "living earth force" theme, etc. Not all of those were in every FF, but that's as much as any of the other FFs have in common (until the spikey-haired, cleaver-wielding leads starting showing up everywhere anyway).

And you could play as the aliens and use the alien vehicles, and instead of traditional FPS one-shot maps it was supposed to be this huge world where you could travel all around the ring? Yeah, I wanted that game too. Instead, we got an FPS-lite for the bill-box.

I have mixed feelings about Katamari Damacy. I first met it at E3 last year (or was it the year before?) and it seemed really, really cool, sitting all by itself in a corner of the hall behind some massive display (HL2?). I couldn't wait for it, I told all my friends. When it finally came out, I had my good fun with it, and was done with it in a few days. My friends went apeshit for it like it was some fountain of blessed nectar from the gods, and just wouldn't put the damn thing down. Now I'm kind of sick of it. It started as the little quirky game that was actually kind of fun, and turned into a decent game that was overhyped to all hell. That said, I'm looking forward to the sequel, but this is one of the only games I've ever wanted NOT to have multiplayer.

It's been a while.. Probably a Cowboy Bebop DVD. My friend watched it marathon-style instead of watching the superbowl, and I happened to be around for some of it.

So I've never actually read the book(s), and I've always felt like some kind of heathen for it. I finally picked it up on Friday and am hoping to read it before I see the movie, just so the horrible experience I'm expecting from the movie doesn't completely ruin it for me.
