  1. There, I donated you 25 credits. Merry 25th of December. I'll save my list for later, when I've opened all my stuff. So far the coolest thing is probably a book from my girlfriend called "Under the Black Flag," a non-fiction historical book about pirates.
  2. I CAN BUNNY HOP IRL! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Wait until they release the Counter-Strike mod. Then you can bunny hop with a sniper rifle that can shoot through CARS.
  3. Recognizable and number of posts aren't exactly the same. Recognizable people have sigs that you associate with them and stuff. I'd say Agozer's right, the voting thread should be a good measure.
  4. Eh, it hasn't been too bad for me yet. The girlfriend liked what I got her and I'm happy with what I've got. I've barely been out of the house though, so it's entirely possible that the minions of hell have poured into the streets and the oceans are staining the beaches red with blood. As for the commercial nature of the holidays - that happened a long time ago, at least in the US. It's difficult to celebrate the season without running into some kind of heavy commercial influence these days. Hell, even our images of Santa Claus are largely based on advertising for one of the country's largest soft drink companies.
  5. On the one hand, these kids may have gotten what they deserved, even though it says they're normally good kids and doesn't say what they did wrong... On the other hand... What a way to hype a big eBay sale. Even if the story is true, the dad is a jackass, just look at his eBay auction (particularly his crap about not listing names in eBay's policy, which is there for a damn good reason). From the story as well as the auction listing, it sounds like Dad needs to grow up just as much as these kids.
  6. He's from the north pole, he probably appreciates a lukewarm drink once in a while.
  7. That's Eric Clapton's more recent stuff. Cream's probably most famous for "Born Under a Bad Sign," which I guess has a bluesy influence, and a bunch of other classic rock type stuff.
  8. Merry Christmas to all, and have a happy 25th of December to Gryph!
  9. Out of curiosity, why no pictures of the gingerbread house? Are you reveling in the impermanence or something?
  10. I bet you have and you just don't realize it. They did a lot of famous stuff.
  11. That's awesome! I wonder if they're doing an album or just a tour, or if they're staying together for any length of time.
  12. Although yeah jackie chan is a better entertainer I think jet li is a better like realistic martial artist. I like that he uses the martial artz in a more realistic sense than jackie. I like stiffness, it'z a different style than jackie, it makez him seem more consentarded to win as appose to jackie where really he just wantz to get out of the fight as quick as he can. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's a really good description of his (Jackie's) newer Hollywood movies, I wouldn't have thought to put it that way. But, if you go back and watch his old hong kong stuff, he retains the sense of looseness without the desparation, and even has some "stiff" scenes that show he can be serious. Someone told me the new "Around the World in 80 Days" has a lot of little "tributes" to his old hong kong days in it. Can anyone confirm or deny this? I never saw it, but I remember a short clip from one of the previews of him fighting with a little wooden stool/bench thing like he did in I think it was Drunken Master.
  13. I'm guessing the minimum system requirements will be something like this: Crowbar Right Hand 20/20 Vision You might be able to get away with a lower resolution if your Vision isn't that good.
  14. /me waits for the photoshopped headcrab.
  15. Is the VIA C3 the Mini-ITX board? And the S3's have a miserable chipset. Don't burden it with stuff like OpenGL if you don't have to. Seriously though, unless ZSNES for linux specifically uses OpenGL, it shouldn't make a significant difference. What version of ZSNES are you running?
  16. The few of those movies that I've seen are the brest. I need to find more. I've heard "wheels on meals" or whatever it's called is one of the coolest. I watched a documentary on Jackie Chan once that showed this near-fatal stunt that was fouled during a hong-kong flick. He was supposed to swing with this tree branch onto a wall. The problem was that, in real life, the wall was on the edge of a tall cliff, and the branch broke during the take. Scary stuff. And I've actually never seen Project A - I must go find this one.
  17. Agreed! Selling to a store is a nice way to get rid of something quickly, but a crappy way to get what it's worth. When you do this, you usually end up getting about half, or a little less than half, of the average re-sale value of your stuff.
  18. Let's not start hating them for things they haven't done yet....
  19. I voted Troll Shaman, totally arbitrarily. Well, not totally. When I played EQ years and years ago, the Dark Elf city annoyed the hell out of me, because it was laid out so poorly. Therefore, I voted against the night elves because they have to be related somehow.
  20. How are you going to sell it? eBay would pretty much gaurauntee a fair price if that's an option, and you'd probably get more selling things individually there. If not, you could do a few searches on completed items to come up with a fair price for your stuff.
  21. You've been a lot more angry and bitter lately. And Adelwhateverhisnameis is alright.. Better than the cheesy "real" boss of 2K3. I still like Rugal (well-dressed version) better though.
  22. Eh, it's kind of a shame that they'd break a 10 year tradition like this, but if it means a better game or more life for the franchise then I'm for it. I'm perfectly happy with a dream match, or something entirely new, since I never played the games for the 5 or 6 lines of story anyway.
  23. While there are tiny bits of real-life warnings in there, it's mostly just silly.
  24. I like Jackie Chan more than Lee or Li, though I definately respect the work of the other two. Where Jet Li and Bruce Lee tend to be more straightforward, and arguably more practical, in their fighting style, Jackie Chan is more "colorful," and I find it more entertaining to watch. I can't really pick which of his films I like the best.. The original Drunken Master was awesome, as was the one that started with the lion/dragon fight, I think it was The Young Master.
