  1. You're becoming annoying, you can take a break for a while to calm down.
  2. Works for me, i don't get any white background. Please stop creating duplicate threads, this is the 3rd time you've done it.
  3. The chip icons and the red X are built into the app and cannot disappear.
  4. It works, but you have to turn off the History tab. You can't have history displaying on 2 tabs at the same time.
  5. CHM files are a lot of work and microsoft considers them as a security risk, so no. Don't have the time to deal with it. 3-state checkboxes have been around for ages. To see one in action, right-click on a folder and look at the properties. Click on the "Read-only" checkbox and you can see it goes through 3 different states. There's no need for me to explain how they work, everyone knows. Driver icons are a specific icon per game. You can get them from the usual places. Again, they've been around for at least 20 years, and they've always been in MAMEUI.
  6. Few more changes with icons. A working bios gets the blue chip. The redx override setting has a 3-state checkbox (first time I've used one). - unticked = red/yellow/green chips, but if driver icons are found they will override for working games. - intermediate = same as above, but the red chip is replaced by red X. - ticked = driver icons will always be used. If there's no icon, then it falls back to intermediate. If you don't want driver icons at all, change your icon directory settings to point away from the icons or delete them.
  7. This question has been asked before, and the answer is still the same: no. It's up to the community to provide non-essential extras.
  8. I found that the working parent icon resource was green in arcade and grey in mameui/hbmame. So I copied the arcade resource object across, and now the working icon is green in mameui/hbmame. I still want to have the red X as an option which will mean an extra choice in the interface options. If you don't choose it you get the red chip, if you do you get the red X. About the grey chips, there 2 kinds, one with a ? to indicate it hasn't been scanned at all, and the other one has the stop sign to indicate it has been scanned and some roms are missing.

  10. I have no idea what your setup is. I get green chips and yellow chips. As far as I'm concerned, it works.
  11. MAME does that stuff differently. If there's an imperfect device, its status makes it's way down to the game - that doesn't happen in MAMEUI. Things I don't care about such as Protection, Timing, Microphone, LAN are not used by MAMEUI. So they will never be the same. I'm not planning on changing it.

    MAMEUI64 0.287.0

    I don't mean to be rude, but none of that is any of your business.
  13. I didn't know about the roms so I've modified my packaging script to not include them in future. But MAMEUI has default icons inbuilt, they mostly look like IC chips of different colours depending on the status, and a red X for not working sets. So I have no idea what you're on about.
  14. We only supply the absolute minimum, things that can't be obtained elsewhere. Icons, snaps and other non-essential things have to be sourced by the user, from wherever they can be found.

    Moving to c++20

    I didn't know about that. Since you know how to fix it, can you show me how and I'll see if the fix can be incorporated into my builds.

    Moving to c++20

    What's wrong with save states? (I didn't know anything had changed.) Now, with win7 breakage, the change in question is https://github.com/mamedev/mame/commit/eea4b4719063219fb4572ef1f346422304c10e68 Some parts need reverting. I only temporarily tested with current official MAME. At the bottom of the file list are 3 files in src\osd\windows - you need to revert all the changes in these files. After that, mame should work again in windows 7. You should be able to do the same in my builds although I didn't test it. Also, since the next release isn't until end of May, there's plenty of chance for more breakage coming from the devs.

    Moving to c++20

    Someone asked if it was possible to make it work on Windows 7 again, so I made 3 changes and then the current git worked. How long it stays working is another matter.

    Moving to c++20

    Finished compiling everything. There was a small issue in MAMEUI, easily fixed. Everything else is fine. Tried the new MAME on Windows 7, it does not run due to a missing entry point. So, ver 0.287 is the last one for Windows 7/8/8.1 .

    Moving to c++20

    MAME just made the move to c++20. At this stage I have not tried compiling to find out what has been broken, if anything. The only supported windows versions are now 10 and 11. The minimum GCC version is now 11 instead of 10.3 . More info as it becomes available...

  24. That's one thing I have heard about AI, it can make the nicest clean-looking code, but the side-effect is that it doesn't actually work. So, as you say, it's only a starting point. AI tends to pick up bad habits that other authors have got into, so that might be where the static arrays come from.
  25. I've never used AI, and some of them make horrendous mistakes, but Claude seems to have a better reputation than some of the others. The question is, does this new driver work?
