  2. MESSUI 0.190 and MAMEUI 0.190 have been released and are available at the usual place: http://messui.1emulation.com/ There's no release of HBMAME. Changes: - Lots of work was done to reduce the number of crashes that came with the last few builds. - Fixed crash when selecting a new background (even when you hit Cancel) - Fixed crash when unexpected data was found in mameui.ini and mame_g.ini - Fixed problem where the last machine you had chosen wasn't remembered - Fixed problem where it didn't remember which software tab you had chosen - Fixed problem with splitters going crazy when trying to adjust window sizes - Fixed problem with hide/unhide of the software area not synchronised with the setting - The new default window size is to fill most of the screen - whatever size it is. - You can right-click on a game and play the AntoPisa movie mp4 on your default mp4 program - You can right-click on a game and open the PDF with your default PDF reader program - 10 of the treeview folders (BIOS, CPU, Dumping, Manufacturer, Refresh, Resolution, Screen, Sound, Source and Year) have been made external. MAMEUI will refresh them as part of the caching process. They are stored in the folders directory. Note: - Unable to replicate a reported problem where softlists wouldn't show - Unable to replicate a reported problem with fullscreen - The new external folders (ini files) can be used as extra filters in MAME's internal UI. - If weird stuff happens on the first run of 0.190, try deleting mame_g.ini - Please report all bugs and crashes (especially new ones) in this thread.
  3. New last-minute feature added: 10 folders (BIOS, CPU, Dumping, Manufacturer, Refresh, Resolution, Screen, Sound, Source and Year) have been made external. MAMEUI will create and refresh them automatically as needed. This means that MAMEUI will start up even faster on the 2nd and subsequent uses. The new files can be used as input to MAME's internal UI filtering system. MAMEUI files can be used in MAME; MESSUI files can be used in MESS; HBMAMEUI files can be used in HBMAME (whenever the next release happens).
  4. It was removed due to lots of bugs. Use the 32-bit version, everything works exactly the same.

  7. For next version, added ability to playback Antopisa's mp4 movies, and also to read game pdf file. Both things are available by right-clicking on the game in the main list.
  8. OK I can see the problem with TG16 but it's a side-effect of allowing several different pieces of software to be mounted in different media slots. What happens is if you choose bombmn94 it loads up a CDROM for that game. Then if you choose Bonk it loads up a Cart for that game. However the CDROM stays in, and it takes precedence, so it keeps trying to run bombmn94 instead. You will need to click on Media View, and unload the CDROM.

  10. SW Files does a few checks and if any fail, it defaults to the emulator directory. Firstly you have to set up up the Software Files Base directory - this points to the root of all your loose software. Then for each system (you only need to do the parents) go to the Software tab and add the folder(s) where the software is to be found. It must not be the same as the Base. So, in my case the Base = E:\DATA and the Software for NES is E:\DATA\Nintendo\nes . As long as they are different and are both valid existing directories, then it should work.
  11. The splitters bug (2nd picture) has now been fixed, but you'll have to wait until next release to get it.
  12. The splitters issue has been fixed at last. Another known bug, the Software Area checkbox wasn't always synchonised with the actual software area showing or not, this is fixed too.
  13. Use the 32-bit build. I haven't seen the SW Items problem although a few people have reported it. I cannot fix what I cannot see. In the Directories, does 'hash' show when you look at the Hash directory?
  14. There's no 4k support because I don't have such monitor to test with. Also I don't use Windows 10 (in case you do). The workaround for the 2nd picture is in the changelog. I don't see Bomberman or Bonk in your pictures. What system are they for?

  16. Going on that, I've just uploaded new versions of MAMEUI to the messui site. Also, the download for MESSUI64 has been removed as it would have had the same problems, but since nobody complained I have to assume nobody uses it. Anyone who does can get the 32-bit version.
  17. Good to see you've got something that works. Enjoy!
  18. Perhaps. I don't have Windows 10 as I find Windows 7 does all I need.
  19. Hi, yes it's a problem with certain compiler versions. I'm still using 5.3.0 so you might like to try that. Just tried mameui64 and the software list shows up fine.
  20. Yeah I had already approved your account. For some reason gmail rejects our emails.
  21. Well, the code for software-and-slots to MAME's core was indeed stabilised, but the 64-bit version has a whole bunch of issues in the winui side of things. My testing was all done with the 32-bit build (which works fine), but it turns out the 64-bit build needed extra testing. So, fixed in the last few days: - Crash when wanting to change the background image and hitting either Cancel or Open - Crash when non-numeric data existed in mameui.ini where numbers were expected - Random crash when trying to get back the cache value from mame_g.ini - Doesn't remember which system you had chosen when you quit. - Doesn't remember which software tab you had chosen when you quit. The fixes for all this means you have to delete mame_g.ini again, otherwise it will crash on the large cache numbers that currently exist (it's a c++ exception, i cannot prevent it).

  23. MESSUI 0.189 and MAMEUI 0.189 have been released and are available at the usual place: http://messui.1emulation.com/ There's no release of HBMAME. Changes: - Another big rewrite due to new code that was added to the core. - History indexing speed was improved. - Software displays will change if slots added that add extra media devices or enable extra software lists. - Many, many other small changes, too many to list individually - The mame_g/mess_g.ini and mameui/messui.ini files have a new format. All existing settings will be lost. - The new default window size has been expanded from 800x600 to 1024x768. Note: - The new code we've had problems with has been largely stabilised, and has extra work done to make it more stable than official MAME. If you find that MAME crashes when changing slots or software, give MESSUI a try. - In the MAME internal UI, selecting Configure Machine then Video Options will crash. MAME devs are looking into it. - When you first try setting up MESSUI/MAMEUI, there's a problem with the splitters covering up the list of games. There's a workaround: "Start MESSUI/MAMEUI. Drag out the bottom-right corner to expand it to the desired size (even though it looks like crap). Close it. Open it. Now you can adjust the splitters and it will look ok. Close it again to save the settings. Next time you open it, everything will be fine."
