  1. I'd heard that Metriod was some hack, so I guess they are both duds.
  2. Version 2e is out. Here are results of my tests, only the changes are listed. Comparisons with iDeaS are given, although in all cases I don't know what is "correct". First the DS demos show a vast improvement - most now do something and no crashes: Mines-arm9.bin : working, touch screen works but not lined up - exactly as documented davr-arm9.bin : it starts off ok... then sort of goes nuts ?? A stack fault ?? drops-arm9.bin : top screen is blue... same as iDeaS... correct? DSpaint.bin : top screen is correct, bottom screen is corrupted pongDS : runs, top paddle is confused which way it should move, score doesn't show, slows right down after first point from 10fps to 2fps. Works on ideas. tile02.bin : does same as ideas - rows of letters on bottom screen and ^ on top screen under_pressure.bin - runs, words are missing. I suspect that the colours are wrong although ideas has the same. 2dexample-arm9.bin : top screen grey, bottom black. On ideas, top screen is black, bottom screen is a green and white checkerboard. The 2 commercial games cause the emu to crash. ----------------- GBA: wstein.gba : still flashes insanely, even when stationary roto.bin : works now... the intro looks a bit corrupt? atomix.gba : intro screens work, freezes after a short while, need task manager to close emu. blocktrap.gba : intro screen works then no response console.gba : some dashes on the screen, no response cutecube.gba : it runs... most of the graphics are missing impact.gba : intro screen works, play screen appears then no response nexus.gba : intro screen works then no response santa_escapes : 2 intro screen then no response sotb.gba : same as nexus, and wrong colours thingpong : works, cannot see bats and ball - no sprites? When you consider that most of the above simply crashed the emu earlier, it's a great improvement.
  3. That very very quick indeed. You can get it at http://www.dsemu.org/dsemu-0.0.2e.zip
  4. I'd like to think I'd hit the offender... who knows. I'm a peaceable person who'd prefer to be friends with everyone. I simply avoid places and situations where danger lurks.
  5. Raccoon? Who eats that? Maybe they had 50 dogs to feed.
  6. The sensation... I guess you mean the enthusiasm to make it happen... yes I do, but it has changed. I'm playing a part with the DSemu, which is most interesting seeing something new being formed. I still chase those elusive, hard to find arcade roms, with mixed success. The down side is the fact that it is somewhat illegal now, plus the mamdevs cracking down on mame derivatives, such as the sudden death of Clonemame. I have zero interest in real consoles, never have. Once this dsemu project is finished, I'll be deleting all my files, satisfied that I've been able to help.
  7. Right-click on that link... save target as Looks nice. Bugs: 1. If ini file doesn't exist it crashes when you try to open it 2. "Seccessfully" should be "Successfully" 3. Select key shows as 08 instead of backspace 4. After you've set up the keyboard, the settings are written to the ini as words instead of numbers, so the keyboard stops working. If you could fix these, particularly no.4, it would be beautiful.
  8. It would be nice if the download link existed. The download.html still points at version 1e. You can get it at http://www.dsemu.org/dsemu-0.0.2d.zip
  9. This might the same as PandaForth which shows the top screen at the top and bottom, while the "keyboard" is missing. IdeaS shows it better.
  10. Here are some screen shots. Hazuki Mortal Konsole
  11. I'll test them again, each opened as a DS rom on version 2c: under_pressure.bin - black screen and emu crashes after a while 2dexample-arm9.bin - same battleshipDS-arm9.bin - shows opening screen, title and playboard cube_emu - black screen davr-arm9.bin - black screen draw-arm9.bin - same as under_pressure drops-arm9.bin - top screen blue, crashes after a while mines-arm9.bin - crashes emu ship_emu.bin - black screen texture_emu.bin - black screen tri_emu.bin - black screen The openGL doesn't work for me - even though my OpenGL screensavers work.
  12. None of those demos work in DSemu, just a blank screen.
  13. I think every emulation site in the world knew of this release before I did. Some testing: Hazuki011 (GBA) - This works at last. The background is there, the KO bar is there, the fighters are there and can be controlled. As far as I can tell, it's perfect. It shows I need a faster computer, a 500mhz celeron is too slow. TetrisARM9 (DS) - Working. Press A to change the background colour. Mortal Konsole (GBA) - A pong game. The sprites are correct at last. Only one bug, the screen to select the "consoles" doesn't appear, although you can steer the pointer around. Apart from that, another working game. Congratulations!!
  14. Thanks for your generosity. I downloaded most of them (at about 30kb), hopefully no-one was inconvenienced. The results with "ideas" was quite promising. PongDS works, as do most of the non-interactive demos. Many others produce results of varying completeness. One problem is that the mouse doesn't activate the touchpad at all. BattleshipDS-arm9 shows the title screen and blue waves. This demo is the only one that worked on DSemu. DSemu was also able to show the playboard. Neither emu worked past this point. Next, I tried dualis (for the first time), however it could not find a working renderer, so no luck there. Lastly, I dl'd HyperDS v3, but the zip file was corrupt. Need to look further as it has never been officially released.
  15. Went there, downloaded a number of demos. On ideas, the emu crashed every time. On dsemu, no crashing, but a blank screen every time. The demos used were 2D.bin, cube.bin, first.bin, lights.bin, ship.bin, texture.bin, tri.bin, tunnel.bin Lastly I tried the acquired game on dsemu, and it crashed.
  16. Could someone point me in the direction of DS demos? I'd like to try some. Since my last post, I've "acquired" a DS rom but it crashed the emu.
  17. 3. You seem implicity annoyed about that Close thing. Don't worry, I'll get on it at some point Implicit... hmmm... I guess I did imply that. Even with the new X/Y buttons? (I think DM has those do something with Tetris, but I'm not sure.)Sorry I don't understand... What are X/Y buttons? What is DM? I don't possess the DS or any other console - I just perform tests with the emus in the hope that it may help you somehow. The Tetris game may, for all I know, be missing layers and colours - but it does run and plays perfectly well. This ideas emu also has no.ini file, and no log file. It does have a second screen, but I've yet to see anything on it. Perhaps it only works with a.nds rom. I don't have any of those. The doco says that the mouse works as a touch screen - point at the screen and click left button to simulate a touch. Again, without a DS rom, I cannot try that.
  18. I downloaded and tested that iDeaS emu. 1. It only supports bin and nds files. 2. It doesn't read the command line, so you cannot drag a bin file onto the exe. 3. The open, close, play, pause, stop options all work. 4. The debugger does nothing. I tested all my BIN files. They either crashed the emu or gave a blank screen.... except for ONE GAME that works perfectly. It is called TetrisARM9.bin
  19. Any rom that is "No good dump known" is optional, and the game will attempt to run without it. Probably a good idea to get that rom, but since there is no good dump known, you won't know if you've gotten a good one or not.
  20. Finally fixed the Galaga star field after all these years.
  21. you gonna paste them here?
  22. Hmmm You can open a dos window? That means that autoexec.nt and config.nt exist and valid. Those 2 files are in your c:\windows\system32 folder. Check them to make sure you're not loading something you shouldn't be. Paste them here and we can comment.
  23. I've only that once and not here. It's as if the css wasn't working.
