Those things sound like problems within MAME/MESS itself, rather than any doing of the MESSUI frontend. I would suggest you discuss the problems with knowledgeable individuals at the bannister forum, and if the others there agree, log them at mametesters.

yay a new release After all that rush with a dos version it all went very quiet. Maybe those 2 users are happy with it.

I'm having the same problem. It seems Filezilla can't handle it. I might try using this flashxp thing, or I might go back to my old hosting. Either way, this wasn't a good idea. Plus the fact there was no announcement or anything, it just happened.

From 0.166, MESSUI and MAMEUI dat files will work this way: The menu options to find mameinfo.dat and history.dat have been removed. A new directory option (DAT files) has been added. MESSUI and MAMEUI will be able to display the contents of up to 6 specific DAT files. These are: - history.dat - mameinfo.dat - messinfo.dat - sysinfo.dat - command.dat - story.dat * Create a folder to hold these files (the default foldername is dats). * Use the Directory option for DAT files to select this folder. * Quit MESSUI / MAMEUI, so that your choice is saved. * Download the 6 files: - history.dat - http://www.arcade-history.com/?page=download - mameinfo.dat - http://mameinfo.mameworld.info/ - messinfo.dat - http://www.progettosnaps.net/messinfo/ - sysinfo.dat - http://www.progettoemma.net/mess/extra.html - command.dat - (see below) - story.dat - http://www.arcadehits.net/mamescore/home.php?show=files Notes: - mameinfo.dat contains some European characters.
