  3. nah, nothing here. But I hope everyone else got what they wished for
  4. Well, since my original post we've seen the usual response from the madman who heads the NRA. Of course, for him more guns is the answer. His organisation gets a few more paying members. Today I just saw on the news where a loony set fire to some houses then fired upon the firemen, killing 2 and wounding 2 more. One can only suppose the NRA response would be that firemen should carry machine guns and do their job from inside a tank. This gun stupidity has gone on for far too long. It is time to get rid of them all.
  5. America ... A land where guns outnumber people... a land which has more homicides than the rest of the world put together... and yet, the more deaths, the more people go out and buy more guns. What is the purpose of a gun? It only has one purpose - to kill. These little killers congregate in homes and businesses all over that cursed country. Although it is possible for a gun to fire by itself, mostly they are used by nutjobs, druggies, criminals, police and the army to kill others. For some reason America seems to have a much larger proportion of these murderers than most other places. In Australia, most people have never actually seen a gun with their own eyes. Even fewer have touched one. While I have seen one in a policeman's holster, I've never handled one. I shudder just to think of it. Last year we had 30 deaths from guns. The last mass shooting was in 1996. In America, the last mass shooting was just the other day, and last year almost 10,000 were shot dead, and about 100,000 injured. The driver behind all this is an evil organisation known as the NRA. It wields enough political clout to forestall any limitations. The only way to fix this is for someone to take them down. Perhaps the FBI could stop chasing harmless file sharing sites, and instead use their technology to accomplish something far more meaningful - making the country safe from its own guns. I've heard many stories of Americans having gun collections, of houses full of guns ready to shoot at a moment's notice. I cannot even conceive this concept, it is just so wrong, to defy all common sense. And yet huge numbers of families continue doing it. To me, it is inexplicable. And, so, President Obama has committed himself do doing something. I bet nothing will happen, after all, he's not running for any more elections. But on the other hand, he has nothing to lose. Has he got the guts? Lastly, do we have any gun owners here? Why do you have them? Does it make you feel safer, knowing you can murder someone at the pull of a trigger?
  6. Sounds like an interesting experience. I'm content to wait for the movie to come to free-to-air TV - whenever that is.

  8. http://www.winuae.net/frames/download.html The best emulator of the Commodore Amiga.
  9. http://www.ppsspp.org/downloads.html This is a new emulator of the Sony PSP handheld. Currently it has low usability but it is improving with each release. There are versions for Android, Windows, OSX, Linux and Blackberry. The current source is always available from the svn repository. With that, you can always build the 'bleeding edge' without having to wait for an official release.

  16. Ah well it's the 11th here too. There's no street marches or anything, that happens on Anzac day, April 25th. But the Christmas sales are well and truly on.
  17. What day is veteran's day? We don't have that, but today is remembrance day, the day WW 1 ended nearly 100 years ago.
  18. Good suggestions there. I don't use Facebook, Twitter or any of that ilk, but most ppl have been centralising their activities around those sites, and leaving the rest out in the cold. The main thing to get people here is that we have to offer something that isn't generally available elsewhere. That is why torrent sites, roms, hacks and so forth have an audience. Unfortunately it is also flirting with danger. We had an arcade, but it is gone. We had the FAS, but it is also gone. We had a download section, and it went. There is nothing that makes us special. Just another forum. To Miskie's suggestions.. A. FAS - yes please B. Agreed, you can download emulators from lots of places. However there are some hacked and rare versions that are hard to get, we could host those. Also, it's time to start with emulators for xbox1 as Microsoft no longer cares about it and we still have the remnants of a xbox community. C. Yes, I suppose that would be a good idea, but I'm not really qualified to say.
