Toowoomba is about 100 miles west of Brisbane, up on the mountains, with a population of about 90,000. A sudden storm and large amounts of rain caused a "tsunami"-like effect washing away cars and whatever right in the central shopping district of the town. 10 killed, including the case of a 13-year-old boy who asked that his 4-year-old brother be saved first. But before more help could arrive, the 13-year-old and his mother were drowned. The water then came down the mountains into an area known as the Lockyer valley, devastating town after town and killing more people. Some of the towns are completely destroyed. After that, the water entered the area of the Brisbane and Bremmer rivers. The Bremmer runs through Ipswich, a major town, and reached a depth of 20 metres, flooding 2/3rds of the town. The Bremmer then joins the Brisbane river and all of that came to Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland. 20,000 homes flooded, billions of $ of damage, and the water hasn't gone away yet, just dropping slowly over the next few days. Over the previous month, most parts of Queensland were flooded to some degree. An area larger than France and Germany combined was under water. A lot of this is still around. Floods also occured in Western Victoria, Eastern South-Australia, and Tasmania in the last few days. I live in a safe area, nice sunny weather here.

MAME doesn't work with vnc either. It uses raw-input so i'm not surprised it doesn't work with ds2key. MAME is a pain in the ass for remote control.

I saw that Heathrow airport was closed because of the snow, and temps were at -7 C. Meanwhile here today it is about 26 C, cloudless blue sky, somewhat windy. Magnificent weather.

Oh, today twice I have not been able to connect, firefox can't find the server. I click the try again button and it works straight away. No problem with other sites. Another thing that has bugged me for a while. Sometimes, if I use quick edit, after I click to save, it just hangs. The server timeout occured 2 more times while i was working on this and editing it.

I would merge xbox360 and xbox, they are much the same really. Merge all the handhelds, the DS developer stuff (DSwifi, Dualis, DSemu, StellaDS), GBA, N64, PSP etc all into the General Handheld forum. Rename it to Handheld. Merge Nintendo / Super Nintendo, Gamecube, Wii, Genesis / MegaCD, Dreamcast / Saturn, Playstation, Playstation 2, Playstation 3, into General Console. Rename it to Console. Merge MAME, Neogeo, CPS into General Arcade. Rename it to Arcade. Emulation radio show should be merged back to wherever it came from. Obviously I'd like to see the return of the FAS, but if it isn't going to happen then merge the FAS forum with something else. Seems MUGEN is no more being developed, perhaps that could be merged into something else as well. Don't really care if you leave it there though. edit: info about developer forums.. in all cases the developers have abandoned us. DSemu, nothing new for nearly 5 years. According to local media here, his bank account had been frozen prior to the hearing, so when it came time to post bail, he could not access his account. Don't tell me that was a coincidence. Previously, his paypal account had been locked. This is how supporters funded his operations. It's not the first time that Paypal have stolen money; I would never use them for anything. Besides, they are an unregulated bank, answerable to no-one, that pays no interest. Also, it seems he had stuff stored on amazon servers; these have been shut down at someone's behest. A dns company in Cali had to let him go after it came under sustained ddos attack from within the country. And even here, the govt ordered the address be blocked so nobody here could read the info. Of course there are other addresses that work quite well.. This is what happens when you cross swords with those who own that country.

That entire sex charge thing is just ridiculous. Just something to get him arrested because he offended a certain government.

I wish it would snow here... even just once would be nice.
