    I think this problem is more to do with the crappy quality of the ps2 DVD drive/laser to be honest.

    I have installed that microsoft anti spyware as well as ad-aware and spybot. I only get harmless tracking cookies now.

    For games and DVD it's got to be... THIS!!! They stock both region 1 and region 2 discs. They have a US site too if you click on the international button at the top right of the link.

    I can acess the forums using the 1emulation link but I cannot register at the main site. It says I have an inactive account and my e-mail adrdress is in use so I can't retry it. The activation e-mail I got sent won't work.
