if you use alchohol 120% it turns all your ram into a memory buffer which makes it pretty safe, but limits you to 16X im pretty sure your safe to burn at top speed, Buffer-Underrun protection technology came out 2 or 3 years ago, so if your computer was pretty much top of the line when you bought it, and 2 or 3 years old or younger, then it probably has it Or you get download AIDA32 and that will tell you

its coming back rapidly though, there are alot of homebrew servers for alot of games around now if you know where to look ill PM you the ISP account, im in the US, and havent tested it anywhere else, so if it charges you, its not my fault, its a toll free call for the US
