  1. hah yeah i remember my CD wasting days i remember when i was a n00b at Dreamcast anything and i wasted 80+ CDs trying to burn a copy of an original GD-ROM...hehe boy was i stupid i just wouldnt give up
  2. no no i dont think you even read my last post no PC drive can read GD-ROMS!!!! They are a differnt format disc!!! You need to get a DC and a Coders cable to link to your PC THEN you can use the DC as a drive and read the GD Then you have to use overburning to burn the GD image to a CD-R
  3. yeah but the Echelon Intro for UT would make a high squeely noise in teh game if you watched it long enough and it hurt my ears hehe
  4. You need a special version for XP i THINK but try this first, puts ESC and see if a menu appears at the top of the black box because the box is normal OR Contact me and ill send you a new EXE file and CFG file that i KNOW work because i use it myself hehe
  5. i actually use a PSX controller (well actually its a dualshock 2) to play my N64 games it works quite well actually too hehe!! check www.nintendo.com for a pic or look on www.google.com/images and type N64 Controller in for your pic
  6. yeah i know that much, and then you have to go through the pain in the ass of removing their glitchy intro video >_< get PicoZip and try that it can unzip almost anything hehe look for it on google, Ill get you a serial...
  7. yep thats it all right im going to look for it in stores then ill try and rip it for you guys, this is too hard to find hehe ill keep you updated
  8. hehe never mind about the guy owning the site being an idiot hes a funny idiot!! lol his mods are hilarious i just might do some of them, also i like his orginal site design at the homepage and stuff Idiot? Or the worlds next genious? hehe same with Brian Kendall....
  9. ok i just have to get this out its driving me crazy you will never find a working DC game in ISO format, if you do its either fake or a VERY rare instance ISO isnt detailed and complex enough to get all the data you will find them mostly in... CDI NRG BIN BIN/CUE and sometimes CCD Alchohol 120% burns all of those and more so use that for your DC game burning.... some games ARE SUPPOSED to be over 700MB but they burn anyway using a method called Overburning where it squezzes the data in the end of the CD but ignoring the set tracks in the CD and burning the data closer together, this would normally cause the disk to be unreadable, like with a PSX game it wouldnt work in a PSX, but since the Dreamcast can read GD roms which are a higher density (the tracks are closer together, just like overburning) then it can read overburned discs (GD-ROMS ARE NOT OVERBURNED DISCS, they where pressed at the factory closer together in ALL areas, its like a DVD but less memory, also just in case you are wondering what that inner circle on all your GD-ROMS is, its the low density track, just like a normal CD, that why when you put it in a CD player it reads that and plays the "Warning, This disc is for use only in Sega Dreamcast" message, the low density area holds 20MB the high density area holds 1GB, the low density area WAS modified for some games that wanted to use regular CD format audio in the game, but this was very rare. as for images Check Romster Hub in DC... romsterhub.ath.cx and classic Sega Hub classicsega.homeunix.com Also you can find many UNNOFICIAL games and apps and emulators here.... homebrew.dcemulation.com and here... http://www.dcemulation.com/ If your game will not boot try resetting the internal memory (check gamesages.com for the code, go to the Dreamcast section and look for Dreamcast Console and its in there) Also its not neccesarily the year its the model number, all DC games should be able to boot CD-R Games unless it is one certain model The only one that doesnt work says HKT-3030 on the bottom and there is a note on the bottom about it being recertified back to factory standards by Sega, these where apparently repaird or something right before the dreamcast died *sniffle* and Sega decided to update the Firmware on them so no one could boot the CD-R games, also things like Gameshark would not work in these (in very rare cases they did) and even certain games wouldnt, one that i have experianced first hand when hooking my friends up with Dreamcasts is Grandia 2. AVOID GETTING THAT MODEL DREAMCAST AT ALL COSTS, i cant beleive im saying this but that is an evil dreamcast!!! Sell it at gamestop and come back later (so its a different guy working the shift hehe) and buy a new one, making sure to check the model number, if its the same one, just say...uhh oops changed my mind... anyway i dought any of you even read all that but read it!!! we must learn everything about teh dreamcast, i have only skimmed my knowledge of the Dreamcast barely right there and i didnt feel like annoying you all by telling you more interesting yet irrelevent facts. anyway im out i hope i helped in some way or another!
  10. ok i will, why is this thing so hard to find? hehe it wasnt THAT unpopular.....
  11. this sounds like you got a PSX/PS2/Xbox version or something and the person renamed it, but im not too sure it might be that....
  12. I have the translation patch, among other things, such as a guide to how to play it availible here http://www.geocities.com/shibathedog/rudra-e.zip its a great RPG that i have been playing i think you all will like it Im going to assume you all know how to patch SNES roms but if you dont let me know and i will help you out or just send you the patched rom. sorry i didnt just upload the already patched file, i will do that soon and then post a link to that....so if you want it now and you know how to patch go ahead, but if you want a patched version just be patient...
  13. yeah look at my PSX swap trick thats how you get a CD-R to work without a chip also the PSX DOES care about the brand for several reasons The chemicals in the CDs are a different kind/quality/density of chemical with different brands, a Computers CD Drive is very powerfull and can read them all where a PSX's drive is weaker (to save cost too hehe) and cannot read certain kinds/densities/quality of the chemicals. I use Imation, Memorex, and Verbatim and they all work perfect If you are too lazy to find my swap trick, its Here http://www.1emulation.com/forums/index.php...?showtopic=2465
  14. I know the remedy search for the Echelon Version of it i am absolutly positive that one works on all DCs and is self boot, or at least mine is
  15. maybe your mod chip, i use that method all the time and i dont use a mod chip, i use the method in my guide thats stikied somewhere on this forum and it works fine I HAVE had that happen with Tekken 3 before though, but i reburned it and it worked fine it could just be that the CD-Rs your using are crap or that it just didnt burn right.
  16. ive heard PAL Dreamcasts are harder to get US games to boot with than it is to get a PAL to boot on US for mostly hardware reasons, i think you should probably just look for a US Dreamcast
  17. yeah i need something to get 60Hz games to run on a US Dreamcast in VGA mode.... most of the forein games and american games dont care what region their in when their on VGA but it appears the particular 2 i have do...weird.... I have DC-IE but that doesnt seem to work...this is very strange ill try to reburn soon....
  18. Get on Direct Connect and head into Romster Hub there are plenty there, or if you dont want to do that let me know and ill download it for you and upload it somewhere for ya, but itll be faster if you just use Direct Connect
  19. thanks alot! i AM in direct connect but it was the orginization of mame.dk that i liked i mean...if i see somethink like sgf4 (i made up the name) i wouldnt be able to tell what it is....i mean yeah i can recognize something like mslug4 but damn!! hehe well thank i appreciate it!! Nice site weird ill definatly use that one!! The reason i want to use a website still is because i mooch off of my schools T1 line and i dont feel like reinstalling DC every time i want to use it, also they wouldnt have roms on them so i would get booted hehe those computers get re-formatted every night....soooooo bad for the harddrives...... i wont even get started about how stupid my school is about technology....
  20. hmm i had this problem awhile ago and i fixed it by simply updating Nero to the latest version
  21. hehe back to my original question i see I have been looking still this thing is a pain in the ass to find!!!
  22. well actualy that VMI copy thing seems to have Died i have the utilities to open that kind of file...but ahh well it seems to be currupted
  23. This is actually a great remote. It has every single feature all on the remote the design matches the design of the PS2 its wireless (duh) and it comes with a DVD player upgrade CD that gives you a bunch of extra features. It comes with a big thick manual, the remote, and infrared receiver (IR receiver), and some batteries. First you open it and you put in the CD to install all of your shiny new features. Well thats were a very minor problem comes in. You need a memory card to install these features so if you just bought your PS2 and don't own a memory card yet you will need one to get the extra features but I did notice some of the features still work if you just use the remote without installing it none of the really special ones work but all the basics work. Also you need about 2MB of your memory card to install this! Thats a lot of your memory card! Its ΒΌ of it! I still think its worth it and actually and PS2 memory cards are huge so you don't really need to worry about this that much. Anyway after that you go to plug in your IR receiver when you notice it looks extremely ugly in your PS2. It is big bulky and doesnt look like it should be in there at all but it works great and under the right light it has sort of a red tint to it. Anyway thats still minor because hey it still works right? And your going to be looking at the screen not the PS2 so who really cares? The IR receiver also needs no batteries, which is cool. Now you go to install your batteries in the remote no problems there. Now you are ready to use your remote! Everything works great and without flaws! I ALWAYS use my remote its packed with features and it works perfectly. There is only one problem. While using the remote you may notice that a lot of the buttons are too small! Yeah, a lot of them are too small! But you will probably get used to it because I did. The only feature I would have wanted on it was a power button and an eject button but oh well I love my DVD remote! This remote while having its flaws is by far the BEST DVD remote available for the PS2 and I STRONGLY recommend you buy it. For only 20 bucks it's definitely worth it. This remote actually makes most other remotes seem really bad in fact there is only 1 or 2 other DVD remotes for PS2 that I would recommend but this one is definitely on the top of the list. I give this DVD remote a 9/10 because it is a great remote that works perfect but still has some minor flaws.
