  1. It's actually quite easy to hack ATMs to do this, A lot of them actually run windows and are connected to the banks weakly encrypted WiFi connection (Do'h!) although the method I have...ahem...heard of... work like this: You switch the slots around, so the machine thinks the 100 dollar slot is the 50 dollar slot, the 50 dollar slot is the 20 dollar slot, and the 20 dollar slot is the 10 dollar slot. So when you ask for 50 dollars, it spits out 100, you ask for 20, it spits out 50, you ask for 10, it spits out 20. Although not all banks let you withdraw only 10. You would have to be pretty stupid to leave it that way after you left though. Oh and nothing else of importance is really accessible from the WiFi, so no you can't just add a billion dollars to your account (and they would notice that pretty damn quick, in any amount of money)
  2. For 100 dollars I will definitely tell you how to get 1080i and 720p out of your Modded XBox
  3. Did this get solved? Just in case it didn't - MAKE SURE your RAM settings in your BIOS are correct, you will have to set the timings, something like 5-5-5-15 or whatever your RAM uses, it should say on the RAM, also check to make sure the voltage going to the RAM and the Speed (800MHz or whatever) is correct. Windows XP 32-bit only supports 3GB of RAM, not 4. Download a program called Memtest+ You can burn it to a CD and boot from it and it will test your memory, Run through Test 5 a good 5 times because thats usually where things fail, then run through the standard tests (meaning all of them) at least 3 times. Some people run it for like entire days but if its defective its going to fail pretty quick.
  4. Not the most recent version though, which has been uncracked for several months.... Check Scene sources, its there. It just hasn't spread everywhere else yet for some reason. Personally I think Daemon tools offers no advantage to what is offered in Alcohol 120% so I just use that.
  5. My ISP has a big fat paragraph in the EULA stating they won't give out your information to anyone for any reason. They have a history of being on the users side and protecting them too, even in cases where it ends up in court. They openly encourage filesharing, and even have tutorials on their site to show you how to turn off uploading on P2P apps like Limewire so you don't get caught. (You guys know its the uploading you get in trouble for, not the downloading right?) The only time they have contacted me is when they said I was almost always maxing out my bandwidth and offered me a special deal on a fat 20mbit pipe, which I couldn't afford at the time so I denied and they left me alone about it, and when they tried to sell me VoIP services, but I already have Vonage and they couldn't beat their prices, so again they promptly left me alone. Awesome ISP, too bad Comcast bought out most of their areas. I should really look into that 20mbit though, my friend got it and its damn fast.
  6. Raven: It probably isn't self-boot, did you try to get the game to play with a boot disc? There are more non-selfboot games floating around than you think. Dynamo: You pretty much have to extract the image, add the padding, and then recreate the image without altering the way the disc is organized (pay very special attention to which comes first, audio tracks/data tracks) its a huge pain in the ass and not really worth it IMO Dreamcast is supposed to be loud (its not really strain your hearing), and by todays standards it does load pretty slow, using CD-Rs in your Dreamcast isn't the death sentence everyone thinks it is. It probably does mean an occasional re-alignment but if your careful you should be fine.
  7. You probably won't notice a difference with the two hz ratings. This is the monitors refresh rate, on a CRT if your refresh rate is too low it looks kinda flicker-ey and hurts your eyes, but on LCDs you don't really see any difference. I would get the Samsung, it seems to have the best specs/features, If for some reason you can't get the Samsung, The Philips is pretty close.
  8. I used to work next to a gamestop that would take all their overstock at the end of the day (including games, controllers, weird accessories, never systems though) and smash it to bits against the dumpster. I asked them about it and they said its what their manager makes them do because it costs too much to ship it back to a warehouse. You can imagine my reaction as I'm taking out some trash and I see a bunch of guys breaking discs and controllers in half. They used to hook me up with stuff before they broke it though Any chance you get loot like that?
  9. This isn't going to have much of an effect on the 360. Microsoft deliberately set things up so it wouldn't. They knew there was a risk doing anything with either of the two formats, which is why they never made these movies a major part of the console, in fact it's a very minor one, with next to no effect. They still have HD movies on XBL, as disc-less content, which is way ahead of Blu-Ray.
  10. Well depending on what it was for, If it was a standard workstation machine you can get away with way less than a gaming machine.
  11. I just ordered the PC Power and Cooling 750 Quad. Its a pretty unstoppable PSU and should keep me ready for these 60 amp rail oh my! Shoma if you want to upgrade your Power Supply pretty much anything in the PC Power and Cooling line will do it, they are pretty much the best of the best power supplies. Try this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817703005 Heres mine but its probably too much for what your looking for: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817703009
  12. I still can't believe Blu-Ray won. Summary of random thoughts below. Blu-Ray is an unfinished standard, unless you buy a PS3 your player is probably going to become outdated eventually. Thats pretty annoying. Blu-Ray also doesn't support a lot of the cool lossless sound formats HD-DVD did. Also annoying. I guess technically they could add it however. Other than that Blu-Ray probably is a better format from a technical standpoint (Larger discs, even though no one is using anywhere near the max, and faster transfer rates) It's pretty weird that HD-DVD had all the important studios pretty much and all the sudden they went to Blu-Ray like overnight and out of nowhere. Great, I hope this doesn't end up being another stupid annoying Sony proprietary format, I don't like all the bullshit protection mechanisms on it. Where the hell is digital distribution? Screw these discs, they are piling up all over the place. I'm sticking with bittorrent for my HD and otherwise movie goodness.
  13. How do I do this exactly? Download the XNA thing and then it lets me download games? I haven't been on my 360 in awhile.
  14. I think the PS3 is going to make a major comeback in 08. I never thought I'd say if but if you have been following the GDC developers are starting to get pretty unhappy with the 360 so it might be in for some serious trouble. I'd happily get a PS3 if the price came down just a little more and some great games came out for it that aren't on my 360. (Current offerings aren't too appealing to me) Epic is spewing a bunch of bullshit about mods on unreal 3 though, MS isn't doing anything to prevent them from doing anything. I don't know what their problem is.
  15. This page has a video from the ground of the rocket launching up close http://blog.wired.com/defense/2008/02/video-pentagon.html
  16. Thats why whenever I buy something for my PC I make sure to check the release schedule for everything else ahead of time. Some investments I still don't feel are wise (Still waiting on DDR3 to become cheaper, I don't think its really worth it yet). Wizard if you want to sell that GTS you better do it now, People are already starting to avoid any that aren't a G92 like the plague. (enthusiasts anyway, you might be able to sell it to someone unsuspecting)
  17. maybe but probably not by much, Nvidia has stated that this is supposed to be a sub 200 dollar card, and they are pretty pissed off about how they said that about the 8800GT and that ended up not being the case. They probably took some preventative measures this time. ATi Has done some price cuts of their own to combat this card, so there isn't as much room for increase anyway.
  18. The drive I was talking about is called the Hitachi 79, and in order you flash it, you NEED a Passkey chip, like this one http://www.consolesource.com/ecomm/catalog...hip-p-2738.html You also have to take off epoxy, and solder a lot of real tiny connections, This is by far the hardest drive to mod out of all of them. (There are a bunch of different drives that require different tricks to mod now, because of hardware revisions or just firmware revisions, really they are the same 3 drives, but with different firmware/stupid things added on like epoxy)
  19. Here check this out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comparison_of...eForce_9_series D9M = Mainstream Card D9P = Performance Card D9E = Enthusiast Card I think I'm gonna try and shoot for the 9800 GTX, They are saying the 9800 GX2 will have 30 to 50% more performance than an 8800 Ultra, Thats insane, But no one knows for sure if the GX2 is going to be actual GeForce 9 chips or two GeForce 8 Chips
  20. Oh cool that used to be the first place I'd look for userbars, in fact after it went down I just stopped using them because other sites didn't seem as good to me.
  21. uhhh okay. Heres one for USD $170: http://www.clubit.com/product_detail.cfm?i...30892&nav=4 Want something like EVGA? Extra 8 dollars, about USD $178 http://www.clubit.com/product_detail.cfm?itemno=A9602873 ATi/AMD is FLOCKED! EDIT: The prices are the same on Newegg too, Heres the fastest version of the card currently sold, and its still only about USD $210 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130330
  22. Look what you've done, I'm going to be holed up in here playing SNES for days now.
  23. I can't wait, because I may actually be able to afford one. http://www.hothardware.com/articles/Nvidia...hootout/?page=9 http://enthusiast.hardocp.com/article.html...W50aHVzaWFzdA== Doesn't look too impressive, But consider this is the lowest end card in the GeForce 9 series, and its keeping up with the higher end GeForce 8s. (The 8800GTS based on G92 is usually around 5-20 FPS faster than the 8800GT for some more perspective, and the 8800GTS based on G92 is pretty much the fastest GeForce 8 give or take a few FPS) Now consider this card costs less than 200. I heard the rest of the GeForce 9s come out on the 30th of this month. Can anyone confirm this?
  24. Can't DVI carry sound too? Because I've seen video cards that let you connect one of the outputs on your sound card to the video card, and then you use a DVI-HDMI adapter to get video/audio over HDMI.
  25. Hopefully its not another helping of mediocre. The first one was okay I guess, nowhere near what everyone said it was.
