its not really a weak laser, just one that optimized for discs other than CD-Rs (I've seen scratched GD-ROMs that weren't even shiny on the bottom anymore, it was like a brushed steel look, and they still read perfectly, it was at a dentists office being rough handled by kids haha) Instead of burning your discs at a ridiculous speed like 1X or 2X, burn it at HALF the rated speed on the disc (or one notch below half if exactly half isn't available), this actually produces better results. There is a way to force more power to the laser, but I'd be careful with this one. I can't remember how to do it off the top of my head but I know theres a guide online. Is that what your referring to as the Pot Tweak? or do you mean the whole Re-Alignment thing?

N+ coming to Xbox Live Arcade Wednesday
Shibathedog replied to Inky's topic in XBOX 360 Hacks [/xbox360]
More levels? The flash versions has something like 450 levels, do you really want more levels? Do you really like the game enough to beat that many levels? I know I never did, I think I got to like 40 something and then said flock it and started installing steam on all the school computers, as well as putting a copy of Quake 2 on their network drive. Holy crap did that catch on though, every time I would walk into a classroom people where playing LAN matches of Quake 2. If you don't understand the happiness Quake LAN games bring to people who enjoy them, you probably never will, especially at that scale and from people who don't know dick about games/that quake even existed, It was like I was spreading happiness and making the world a better place. Then I would jump in the game and ruin everyones day and blow them to pieces. (Gamechat on the bottom: Oh crap is that Shiba person again! Quick start another game!) I can actually say I'm better than my entire high school at Quake 2. I wonder if its still on their network drive. Anyway, They seem to be porting these ass games in the order they where popular at my old high school which is really weird. I think next up is that faggot ass sleigh rider game. I'll have to ask my brother who still goes there. -
I'm sorry, but flock that game. Its a huge graphical accomplishment with tons of depth/writing/voice acting/places to go/things to see/ways to advance your character personality wise/stat wise/hell you can even upgrade your items! Truly an amazing technical achievement. But thats it, they did allllllllllllllllll that crap, for nothing, because they forgot the fun. 75% of the depth in the game is useless filler that doesn't have anything to do with anything. At least in a comparable game like Oblivion when you did a useless side mission you would get some kind of hint to the main storyline, or learn something interesting about something somewhat useful most of the time. Then they act like alternate endings are something new. OOOH YOU CAN PLAY ALL ACTION STYLE OR PEACE STYLE no you flocking can't, you have to shoot people all the flocking time, and the action sequences are clunky and awkward, but so is everything else about this overly complicated game. You have to memorize practically an entire new set of vocabulary just to understand what the flock is going on. Too time consuming, too much of a task, too much work. Work and Game do not go together, Just like Work and Fun don't go together either. I stopped playing the game when I had to redo the same mission for the 7th time because I would die for no reason with a full health bar, glitchy bullshit game. I grabbed a big permanent marker and drew big veiny dicks on every page of the manual and traded it in to the same pimply flock at gamestop who sold it to me, he asked me if I liked it and I told him I'd rather repeatedly slam my nuts in a drawer than ever play that flocking game again. What an overrated/overhyped piece of garbage. flock Mass Effect. I just wanted to post this to see if anyone else felt the same way, because I feel like I'm the only one who isn't buying into Microsoft's/Bioware's/Whoever the bullshit about this game being so amazing belongs to. Bioware made this game right? While I'm on the subject, KOTOR and KOTOR 2 flocking blew ass too, the only reason people liked it is because it said Star Wars on it. It was a crappy/boring RPG just like Mass Effect and you know it. flock Bioware. I'm just all around pissed right now because of work. But I really do hate Mass Effect this much.

I didn't read anyone elses posts because I need to start homework, but heres my 2 cents. All the good online games on 360 are on PC, where they are played better, play them there. Xbox Live multiplayer is completley ruined by stupid little kids screaming into their mics and talking about dicks and eating sh1t and taking it up the arse. Not to mention the constant technical issues. The networking aspect of the 360 is the biggest piece of garbage I've ever seen, it can't do anything right, prepare for lag and all kinds of BS. I don't understand why people put up with it and think its okay. It won't even detect my PC which is on the same router just because that router isn't the main router of the network, The modded Xbox does it fine! All the content downloads like movies/music videos are also easily obtained on PC, free or otherwise. The arcade games are pirate-able last I heard, not that they are really that great considering most of them consist of crappy flash puzzle games. Or games you could play somewhere else for free. As long as you don't have a burned disc in/running while your on live, you will not get detected/banned. Just unplug the network when your playing a burned game if your that worried. I think you have to do some stealth patch thing to your games too. Keep checking for firmware updates/news about them, as long as you stay up to date, you probably won't get banned. If you do get banned, They ban your console, and thats IT, NOT your IP address, NOT your credit/user info, NOT even your Live Account. If they do and you want it back, get another 360 from the store, rip its info, trade it for your consoles info, and return it, new purchaser flocked, but who gives a crap they can just return it and get another one if the store even bothers to put it back on the shelf. Your probably going to end up with that gay ass drive that needs that chip to unlock it, so its not going to be free. (My friend is doing his and he has one of those drives, he expects ME to do all this micro soldering/heat gun melting bullshit, well flock that, his console is an elite thats probably around a year old though) I have Live, but I'm never really on it, its complete garbage when your used to playing online PC games. I will not put up with all the half-assed bullshit aspects about it. Lag/Drops/Host Advantages/Can't see actual Pings/network connection troubles/device detection troubles/random unexplainable things/the list goes on forever. Again, it blows my mind that people put up with it and think its okay.

I have no idea what your talking about, but here are some things that may help. There are video cards with HDMI-Out now, You may have one, probably not, they are very new. You can easily tell by checking to see if your card has the port on it or not. Some mobos somehow introduce HDMI, again, if you have this it will be on the back. This is weird and rare I'm guessing. I have a mobo lying around that does it but I never bothered to use it because I had to buy some pin header thing that wasn't for sale anywhere, and I don't own an HDTV anyway. Chances are you have neither, if you still want to use HDMI-Out you can do the following Get a DVI-D (Single link is all you need, but Dual Link will work too) To HDMI adapter, one probably came with your card, in fact it should have, but if it doesn't make sure you get DVI-D Single or Dual Link, DO NOT get any form of DVI-I or DVI-A or it won't work. You will now have a cable that is DVI at one end for your card and HDMI at the other for your HDTV If your monitor has an HDMI Input, well thats what it is, the HDMI cable is for hooking a Blu-Ray/HD-DVD (LOLZ!)/Game Console or whatever to your monitor. You CAN hook your PC up to the monitor this way but its a complete waste of time since DVI and HDMI are essentially the same thing. Your Hard Drive has nothing to do with any of this Neither does your CPU, except maybe if its fast enough to play back HD content. Unless by CPU your referring to the entire PC/Tower/Workstation/That loud ass thing driving up the electric bill/whatever other names people call it nowadays. If it does indeed fit into your Hard Drive, Its not an HDMI cable, like previously said, its probably a SATA cable (They are usually red, Gigabyte makes weird orange and green ones, theres probably a billion colors floating around by now because of casemodders) You can get sound through your HDMI cable from your PC, it involves an audio cable going from your sound card into your video card. I've never done this myself so look more into it if thats what your trying to do. Its also relatively new I think...maybe...(I think only a couple GeForce 8s have it added by companies like EVGA/XFX to their specific versions of the card) People don't usually flock around with HDMI on PCs other than to connect it to a TV for a HTPC because they have DVI which is cheaper, and better. (I'm pretty sure DVI-D Dual Link outperforms the latest HDMI standard, but I could be wrong, I don't really pay that much attention to HDMI because paying 90 dollars for a 6 foot cable doesn't really appeal to me, research how HDMI works and you'll see that technically they should be cheaper than analog cables) It sounds like what you are trying to do is connect your monitor maybe? Just connect the DVI cord to your PC, and the other end to your monitor, ignore the HDMI cable unless you want to hook up an HDTV. Oh and there is no reason whatsoever for your monitor to connect to your hard drive.

haha Battletoads is completely awesome. I rule at that game because me and a friend used to play it constantly when we where kids, I can beat the game by myself now because of all the practice. I didn't even think people thought it was that hard. I can't accomplish crap in the old school NES megaman games, maybe I never really sat down and tried hard enough, but I'm pretty sure it would take me awhile just to reach a boss and then I would probably die.

Oblivion was a good one, someone is eventually going to mention GTA

N+ coming to Xbox Live Arcade Wednesday
Shibathedog replied to Inky's topic in XBOX 360 Hacks [/xbox360]
yeah like I said over there, I don't understand these scams, N+, Alien Hominid, Spore or whatever on the PS3 Why the hell am I going to pay money for some crap ass flash game that was used for nothing but passing time in class that I played YEARS ago for FREE. None of them are very fun either. It's just better than listening to the teacher explain how to use microsoft word for flocking hours. -
It's not like dollars makes much sense either. Even though it sounds dumb it would make the most sense if everyone would refer to their money as notes. They all usually say note somewhere on it anyway. Hell even say US-Notes/Canadian-Notes/etc to distinguish. ONE STANDARD ISSUE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA MONETARY NOTE UNIT FOR YOUR SPENDING PLEASURE!

I hate when people say that CD-Rs make the laser work harder and will cause it to break. Yeah because the laser has to move up and down the disc more, but thats what an optical drive is supposed to do. Its going to move up a billion times as you use it anyway. Is playing audio CDs bad for it? No! See where it stops making sense? You can always re-align anyway if it stops reading discs. One of my Dreamcasts is super gay and I have to re-align it all the damn time, but it still works (I think something is loose in it thats causing the re-alignments not to stay) and it did that before I ever put anything burned in it. If you really want to avoid this paranoia you can add dummy data to the beginning if the disc to force all the data to the outer edge, but its a lot of pain in the ass extra work. As far as boot discs go, I always had the best luck with DC-IE, its really only supposed to be an import enabler (hence IE), but it usually works as a bootdisc too. Also try DC-X, DC_HAKKAR (I think its spelled that way), and even try a gameshark/action replay, some games are picky and weird. I think DC-X is the one that lets you force any game into VGA mode which is nice. You can also patch non-selfboot games to be selfboot, which makes things a lot easier, there should be a bunch of tutorials floating around. One more thing, The guy who said it works on the emu and not the DC, but his old burns work, That sounds to me like a media issue, you might have to step it up to Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim to be safe. That or the emulator can fill in missing stuff the DC can't and get it to run. Try verifying the data on the disc with the image.

I don't have any issues like that with mine and I don't do anything special, What happens when it crashes? any logs/error reports? If a game doesn't support quad core it means it wont use all 4 cores, not that it won't work at all. EDIT: Sounds like a stability/heat problem now that I think about it, how are you cooling it?

Gigabytes are for Overclocking pissing contests, thats what they do right. I wouldn't put on in a rig for anything else. They have ONE board thats reliable that I keep hearing about, But I haven't owned it so I can't really say anything. It's for Intel chips anyway. Even if you don't have anything that uses all 4 cores, Windows will run faster, you can have your game on 1 or 2 cores, while the other 2 run crap in the background. DO go quad core if you can afford it. I'll probably have my Q6600 for a long ass time. Pretty future proof as more things start to use more cores. (especially after a little overclocking) I even got mine used for a deal with a pretty damn good CPU cooler, its a B3 but it beats most G0 chips anyway which is a strange yet awesome thing to have. Point being they aren't as ridiculously expensive as they used to be. (B3 and G0 are different revisions, the G0 is newer and cooler/uses less energy/overclocks better in most cases, other than that there isn't really a difference, so if you aren't going to OC pick up a B3 for cheap) Just so you know, that 8800GTS is NOT a G92 GTS, its MUCH slower. The 8800GT kills it.

hmm, The only solution I can think of at the moment is a little pricey, but its 2AM so I'm trying. Connect your PC/Laptop to the wireless Install either a second wireless card, or use a router (try and find a Linksys WRT54G or something so you can flash the firmware for extra options) Share the connection on your computer to the secondary device Have the DS connect to that secondary device instead of the main hotspot. Kinda limits your range though unless you carry your laptop around all the time :/ hmm then again I think you would still need the user/pass, I know theres a way around this I just can't remember exactly what it is.

Yeah stick with swap magic, anyone who's ever taken apart a PS2 knows they are built like garbage. (WTF is with the optical drive?!) you actually CAN install a ELF loader or something like that to your memory card, which lets you boot burned games as long as the card as in, no swapping required, but you have to get it on the memory card using either a swap magic, or a modded PS2, so unless you know someone with either its kinda pointless. Theres one for HDLoader too. My PS2 refuses to read burned CDs though so I couldn't do it. (Its weird as hell, It reads DVDs, Burned DVDs, PS2 games, Burned PS2 games, PS1 games, and I think audio CDs, it might not I don't remember, but it wont read ANY CD-Rs or CD-RWs even if there is just audio on them, it just makes this clicking sound)

heres something fun that I just did because I was bored. Download this little app here, and you can customize your Windows XP OEM info. Screenshot: Clicking Support Information does this, kinda lame but meh App: http://www.topshareware.com/OEM-Info-Edito...nload-57617.htm EDIT: Yeah I had to unoverclock/remove some RAM because of my ass PSU.

well if it works out, nice I have a free checking account I've never put a single cent into because I only opened it for a free ipod which I then sold on ebay

Nintendo Wii officially HACKED without modchip!
Shibathedog replied to Alpha's topic in Hacking and Homebrew News [/hax]
yeah thats what I mean, you'll have to stay on top of everything for it to work. -
I think this is probably one of a maximum of 3 V-Days where I happened to be going out with someone at the time. Anyway, I bought my girlfriend this, Probably the best V-Day gift ever. She insisted I give it to her early because she was so excited. http://www.shivadas.com/Merchant2/merchant...ategory_Code=SP Hers turned out a lot better than the one on the page though, or at least I think so (they are blown on site), its very functional too, it knocked me on my ass the first time I used it, I'll definitely be ordering from them again. Already survived being dropped on the hard bathroom floor. She named it Tingle (Its tradition around here to name your bowls), Tingle like the fairy who sells you maps in Zelda games, and because it made the back of her head tingle the first time she hit it (seriously efficient bowl I'm telling you). I guess it has a fairy theme because of the sparkles on it (which show up much better in person, have any of you seen a sparkly bowl before? maybe I just never noticed when looking at one) I was going to get that expensive dragon piece but some flock bought it, maybe they can blow me another one. For marij...tobacco use only

Nintendo Wii officially HACKED without modchip!

haha cool, I'm gonna try it out just for fun. Hopefully it gets fully cracked open, I have a feeling its going to work similar to custom PSP firmware. -
Do the newer televisions support PAL and NTSC now?
Shibathedog replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Yes, HDTVs do PAL and NTSC Remember though, That PAL and NTSC are standard formats, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, etc. are High Definition formats. Meaning when you run things in NTSC or PAL, they are NOT in High Definition unless upscaled, which raises another debate about high definition or not. One of the purposes to HD formats was to do away with annoying incompatible formats like NTSC and PAL, everyone uses the same HD formats everywhere. -
I just watched Gone Baby Gone because I heard it was good. I'm still on the fence, I can't decide if it was full of genuine emotion/issues with solid writing, or this fake emotional bullshit hollywood has been feeding us. Since its hard to tell, It's at least a good attempt. FULL of plot holes/barely developed characters though, which makes me think the latter of the two. There was some pretty good acting though thanks to a decent cast. Thats one down, two to go. My list of movies to see recently was as follows and in this order (but isn't working out that way) because I heard they where a nice change from all the crap thats been coming out. 1. There Will Be Blood 2. No Country For Old Men 3. Gone Baby Gone On another note, completely hypocritical of what I've written above depending on how you look at it, I saw Rambo. I saw Rambo flocking TWICE. The First showing of the first day it was out, and then the first showing of the second day it was out. I skipped all my classes that day for this. If you watch it as a movie on its own, its alright. This is how I watched it the first time, Just wanted to enjoy how this movie set new standard for violence in movies, Rambo alone kills 236 men on screen. Many more are killed by other people, incredibly realistic too, flocking amazing action sequences. All that sick crap you see the people from Burma involved in is NOT made up either, They captured the essence of Burma pretty well, probably still not enough, its flockED UP in Burma, I'd even go as far as to say Afghanistan isn't crap compared to Burma. Which is probably why the US hasn't forced itself into the issue yet, It would be worse than Vietnam. So it wasn't really just mindless violence for the sake of mindless violence. I also thought they captured the annoying essence of those damn bible thumper people pretty damn spot on. They actually reminded me of people I know in real life, with their flocking attitudes /ramble ramble The second time I watched it as part of the series, and I have to say, If you know what Rambo is really supposed to be about/the statements behind it/all that, Its a pretty damn good movie. (It probably helps a lot to read the books) Especially the ending. That was the best possible ending for Rambo, So satisfying. The movie avoided corniness pretty well too which is hard to do in an action movie these days. Some parts even tasteful, for instance Stallone didn't insist on taking his shirt off at all, No one had to see that crap, and he probably knew no one wanted to. (Although he didn't look that bad in Rocky Balboa) Hes being pressured to make another one, But I really hope he doesn't no matter how badly I want to see more Rambo, because this one was done so well. It looks like he doesn't want to either. Better judgment tells me to give Rambo an 8/10, But I'm going to give it a 9/10 anyway, and you'll never see me give anything a 10/10. Being into film so much, I'm supposed to hate this film I guess, but I can't, I'm sorry but once you get past everyones stupid Stallone is old/Rambo is mindless/other stupid comments, It's really not a bad film/series. It's just become one of those things that are cool to make fun of I guess. Stallone KILLED Brice Willis's Die Hard comeback. Honestly the only thing missing was the colonel, but the actor who plays him died, so it would have been impossible to do it right, its like when they replaced Desmond Llewelyn as Q in James Bond movies, it worked, but not nearly as well, and they needed someone as legendary as John Cleese to pull it off at all. And is anyone else shitting themselves over The Dark Knight yet? They are doing EVERYTHING right, If you loved the comic books, and hated all the movies/cartoons because of their inaccuracies, This is the movie to see. Christian Bale is the best Batman ever, Heath Leger captured the true insaneness of the Joker so well that he said it was beginning to disturb him (possible connection to what happened, theres mysteries deletions of this quote all over the place), A real Joker, Not that piece of crap in the other movie (It was played extremley well, but it was not the joker, sorry!), they are introducing Two Face for the next movie. Holy crap, What more could you want? The cast/story/writing/everything is spot on. Even Michael Caine as Alfred,Gary Oldman as Gordon, Morgan Freeman being involved at all with anything, how perfect. Holy crap, I just can't stop exploding with praise for this movie, I just can't find anything wrong with it. For those of you that don't understand what the Joker is supposed to be like, correct me if I'm wrong because I haven't read the comic in a long ass time so there might be slight deviations, but it goes something like this. The Joker kills the commissioners daughter, chops her up into pieces, takes pictures, and then sends the pictures to the commissioner AS A JOKE. THATS how flocked up the Joker is supposed to be. Thanks for reading, I don't get to post that often anymore, but I try to stuff as much content in as possible when I can.

Enough of your useless chatter
Shibathedog replied to Sybarite Paladin AxL's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
This torrent is all over the place by now, It would be cool to know which site he uploaded it to first, Your allowed to use the sites official initials. (TPB, TB, TD, ILT, etc.) Anyway, I've heard artists say this before, but I don't recall any CEOs saying it.
