I second this too, These type of things always end up being way bigger a deal than needed. I never had a problem with the guy, but if he really did all this stuff than hes a shithead - my reaction being meh - maybe even oh good we got rid of a shithead - but mostly meh, and I would probably forget he exists until this topic ends up in the top posts again. Thats pretty much how its been for every person ever to get into one of these situations too.

I'm not pointing any fingers here but has anyone else noticed a surge in the bitchy teenage high school girl drama going on around here lately? I feel like I see this question every time I get online, here, in my email, PMs, whatever. So here it is *drumroll* HOW TO BURN ANY DREAMCAST GAME, SELFBOOT OR NON. THIS GUIDE WILL ALWAYS WORK, EVERY TIME. IF IT STILL DOESN'T WORK, YOU ARE USING POOR QUALITY MEDIA, HAVE A CORRUPT/FAKE IMAGE, OR YOU ARE DOING SOMETHING WRONG. IT DOES NOT MATTER WHAT FORMAT THE IMAGE IS. THIS IS HOW YOU BURN EVERY DREAMCAST GAME THAT IS IN IMAGE FORMAT What you need: Latest Version of Alcohol 120% possible (Don't use Nero or anything else, There is nothing wrong with Nero, But I have burned EVERY SINGLE Dreamcast game in the ENTIRE LIBRARY using this method, and this program, and never had a single problem. Why not use something you know will work?) Good Quality Media (Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, Ritek, TDK, etc) (NOT MAXELL, MEMOREX, WAL-MART CRAP) Good Optical Drive (Samsung, NEC, Plextor, etc) (Hacked Firmware helps too, but if you don't already know what that is I would suggest staying away from it) An Image of a game Basically make sure you have a CD burner that works, some blank discs, and a game to burn/the required software. ------------------------------------------------- STEP ONE: Open Alcohol 120% and click "IMAGE BURNING WIZARD" on the left side STEP TWO: A window will pop up, Click "BROWSE" and open your image file, Then click "NEXT" (Make sure Delete Image File After Recording on the bottom is unchecked unless you want that) STEP THREE: Select your write speed. Everyone will tell you to pick the lowest setting, thats stupid as hell and takes forever. Anyone who knows anything about burning optical media is going to agree when I say PICK THE SPEED THAT IS EXACTLY ONE HALF THE SPEED WRITTEN ON THE DISC, IF IT IS NOT AVAILABLE PICK THE FASTEST OPTION THAT IS LESS THAN HALF THE RATED SPEED. I can burn them at max speed without any problems but try it this way first. STEP FOUR: Select your "WRITE METHOD" Always always ALWAYS pick "RAW/DAO", if that isn't available to you as an option pick "DAO/SAO" STEP FIVE: Make sure the "ENABLE BUFFER UNDERRUN TECHNOLOGY" box is CHECKED, the "DON'T CLOSE THE LAST SESSION OF CURRENT DISC" is UNCHECKED, "WRITE" is CHECKED, and "SIMULATION" is UNCHECKED STEP SIX: Press start, wait for the disc to burn, and play your game, If it was a self-boot game, it will self boot, if it was not self-boot, use a boot-disc. ------------------------------------------------- It looks like a lot of steps, but its really not, most of the options are already set correctly. Your going to be slamming your head on your desk once you realize how easy it is. Everyone has to learn the first time from somewhere though. If you followed ALL the steps above and your POSITIVE you didn't skip anything. Post here with the following information and your sure to get some help from someone if not me: Your Burner Brand/Model Number The type of optical media you are using The game/image name/any info you have regarding the image including its SIZE/FORMAT. Yeah it can't be used as a hard drive because that would make way too much sense. Hmm, If it works with WinAMP it should work with mediamonkey right? That would be pretty convenient since thats what I use to manage all my music. I know mediamonkey at least supports WinAMP plugins so maybe I can find something like that for the Zune. Honestly anything is better than the Zune software, I don't know if any of you have used it but wow.

Anyway, my favorite gift was probably the new radio I got for my car, stock radios SUCK, I spent the morning tearing my entire dash off just to get the radio out because Buicks are a pain in the ass like that. It was fun though. Thought it was pretty interesting that you could literally take out 4 or 5 screws and then run away with my entire glovebox. I got a lot of much needed clothes, money, and simple little things I was dying for too (like a giant ass CD holder, I have so many burned CDs I don't know what to do with them anymore, I just keep putting them face up on things around the house haha)

Is there any 3rd party software compatible with the Zune I could grab? My brother got a Zune for christmas and my computer is the one with all the music on it. No way in hell am I putting that crap Zune software on here. iTunes was bad enough. If it makes an difference hes going to be using it exclusively for music. I know sometimes software is kinda half compatible with all the features, so if pictures/movies don't work thats fine.

iluvds - You only have to set up double port forwarding if you have two routers, not a router and a modem. If you want to guarantee that a certain computer gets the same IP every time its called Static IP Addressing and should be pretty easy once you find it. Fatal - WTF is this page? Portforward.com is awesome, but the WUSB54GS is definitely a USB network adapter and not a router, no ports get forwarded there. Look up your ROUTERs model number, I'm not sure why this page your looking at exists. Basically what your going to want to do is find out what ports DC++ is using, lets say for instance it uses port 5211 for TCP and 5222 for UDP. Now you want to find your PCs INTERNAL IP Address, hit Windows key + R, Type cmd, type ipconfig /all Look for your network adapter in that list, then look down a little for IP Address, It will be something like 192.168.XXX.XXX but with numbers for the Xs (not necessarily 3 numbers either) Now you need to go into your routers configuration page, most routers have it set to 192.168.1.1, some use 192.168.0.1, default user/pass is usually admin/admin. Look for port FORWARDING NOT TRIGGERING, and its going to be a bunch of spaces to fill in the above information, your going to want to use two rows for this example Check the enable box next to the first row, fill in your IP, port range 5211-5211 (since we only want the one port) and set it to TCP, the application label is optional Do the same thing in the second row, but 5222-5222 UDP mode. hit apply at the bottom, and your done. Note: I made this ports up off the top of my head, don't use them because it won't do anything, Also, I tried to make it sound a little universal for different brands, its going to apply to Linksys for the most part, but all options are worded pretty similar for all these routers, should apply to D-Link pretty accurately too. (The two most common brands besides Buffalo I use)

oh man, I wish I would have taken a picture of my PS2/Xbox/Gamecube game collection before selling it off. Walked into Gamestop with 2 enormous duffel bags full of games, walked out with all the hit games of the holiday season, could have gotten way more online but I would have bought the same crap anyway and it would have required a lot more work. The people told me they never saw anyone trade in that many games at once (but people have come close) and my receipt was about 12 feel long.

So my dad is REALLY into bollywood movies, It would be really awesome to get him a membership to a certain site for christmas so he doesn't have to import all these DVDs anymore. Hes so into them that we have piles of them lying all over the basement and hes going to teach a course on bollywood movies at the college hes a professor at, So this would be a really cool gift I think. I could donate, but paypal always forces me to deal with some kind of BS whenever I use it. I'm really lazy about it, I don't bother with update packs, and I'm just using MAMEUI32 0.121 now. I update every time a new version comes out though. I can't be bothered to add extra games and all that because if it weren't for pleasuredome I wouldn't have MAME at all. I'm so out of the Mame loop I would have no idea where to even look for these added/deleted then readded/etc games.

Using the Unreal 3 engine would be a very smart move. Especially since then they at least have an engine (didn't they redo the engine themselves more times than anyone wants to count?) and maybe we could get a game sooner. The graphics in that shot don't look that great but its probably really unpolished material. Can't wait for this game though, better not flop or the internet is going to go flocking insane. This is a valid point against the video games train kids to use guns argument, If that where true there would be WAYYYYY more dead people. Video games do not train kids to use guns, I know a lot of people who can't shoot for crap but they can kick my ass in counter-strike. I didn't read all of the above posts but someone mentioned America disarming itself in the cold war, I thought I'd add that a country having weapons is completely different than citizens. Probably taking it out of context thought as that seems like it would be obvious.
