alright I think what im gonna do is restore to stock with slayers and then re-install with NDURE, just because I already went through the pain in the ass process of formatting and locking the HDD :/ I'll post tomorrow when I do it and hopefully it goes okay

Okay using DVD2XBOX for playing the games off the HDD is fine, thats what I wanted to do. I don't need copies of games I already own. (weird to see someone not stealing games heh) What do you mean copy the files and then patch them? When i softmodded it i put splinter cell in and loaded NDURE, I didn't have to do anything on my PC. Or are you saying to take the retail C from Slayers disc, Overwrite mine, and then re-run NDURE to re-softmod it? bah and i thought i was starting to understand this xbox modding stuff

Or do you mean the XBox Backups part? I've been assuming the backups don't work because the msdash doesn't because everywhere i read keeps saying DVD2Xbox patches the games for you.

oh man, My parents had the attitude that they weren't into games because they where busy doing other stuff (which was probably true) and it seemed like they didn't want me to play games because they heard somewhere it was bad but didn't really have a reason for it (although i was a kid so what did I know) FINALLY i was able to convince them to let me get a console of my own, because me and my brother had saved all our money for it, it took years and years of begging, but damn was it worth it. after that they tried to limit the violent games, and whenever i did something wrong it was always the first thing to go. Then when I was old enough they let me do whatever as long as my grades where good. Pretty smart, they checked the ratings and all that, i wish parents would do that nowadays >_<

oh snap, I may just have to buy an HDTV (seriously after playing all these games on emus with my xbox on my friends HDTV, 2DHD is freakin awesome)

I've been looking all over the place, and the only thing i can find even remotely close to an answer is to boot the NDURE thing again, restore the MS dash, and reinstall the softmod Is that the right way to do it? Im really afraid to try anything without someone telling me its okay first because i already almost screwed it up

flock, the Xbox Dash wouldn't boot and i replaced it with apparently the wrong msdash.xbe, how the hell do i fix this? Error code 21 EDIT: Crap that scared me, luckily splinter cell booted so i was able to get into the linux installer and start the FTP server and change it back Anyway so now my problem is my xbox dash wont boot (it used to :/) and backups seem to freeze when they access the HDD, I made sure to make backups of everything so thats not a problem at least

So I tried to backup some of my games (no seriously, just because im too lazy to carry discs around) and first I tried to copy Mortal Kombat Deception. I used DVD to Xbox on the Xbox. The game launches, But as soon as it goes to create a save file, it crashes. So I figured maybe the disc was scratched, So I downloaded a copy of Guilty Gear X2, and the same thing happens! At least I think, Ive never played it on xbox, but when you get to the screen that says press start, it crashes. Am I supposed to patch it or something? This is really annoying considering how convenient it would be to just bring my xbox over for drunken shenanigans as opposed to my xbox and all this other stuff.

Disc 4 lol I remember when the PS2 came out my friend was freaking out next to his PS1--- "YOU MEAN NO MORE DISC SWAPPING?!!?" As he was on like disc 9 of some FF game. Games nowadays tend to suck, they impress me less and less, There are always a few that stand out, But its not as regularly as before, That pretty much ended when the N64 did.

I definitely need this after that catastrophe that was the latest KOF game. So is KOF all 3D now? They had those 2 weird spinoffs, Maximum Impact or whatever, But last time i turned on the PS2 I was trying to play I think KOF 2006, and it was 3D, and so terrible I haven't turned the PS2 on since.

Put me down for Halo, flock that mediocre garbage As for Half-Life, I never really liked the first one too much, But I assumed that was because I never really had a PC decent enough to play it. and playing it after i played HL2 was kind of strange, I pretty much only did it to fill in the plot holes. I can see how people really liked it, I just missed out on the experience (So I'm assuming, if it weren't for the fantastic sequel I'm sure I would have dismissed it as crap) Zelda, Is not crap, I love Zelda, I like Metal Gear games too, Extremely easy to make fun of because they do get a little ridiculous at times, but still fantastic (The 4th one is starting to look reallllly weird though, still shitting my pants over it anyway however) Metroid, I stand my ground on, Every game is the same stupid ass thing, You crash land on a planet, find these metroid things, waste tons of times going through the same rooms and obstacles over and over again until you get your powers back, and then kill the final boss. The NES one, Crap, the SNES one, Pretty damn good, They took everything that was wrong with the NES one, fixed it, and made a damn fun game, After that it was just ridiculous, Especially those piece of crap Gamecube ones, the puzzles where just so flocking stupid, and it was so boring, and the controls so bad. I can't even give the series a chance anymore, they just flock up with every release. I pretty much agree with the rest of the topic though. (Assuming when you say Half-Life you mean the first one, By the time I got a PC good enough to play that crap I was too busy with Quake ) The only real problem I have with HL2 is the weapons, Its one of those games where no matter what weapon your using it seems too crappy. Minus the gravity gun of course. But the rest of the game is so fantastic I can overlook it.

I have a grudge against Seagate, too many drives failing on me, I just don't buy them anymore. Anyway I'm sure this will be worked out before it really effects anything, especially with the massive stocks resellers probably have right now. IJTF is right though, Almost every other day I get some news story in my RSS feeds about some asshat flocking around with patents like this because they want some money or some BS.

USB is better for a mouse though, especially if your looking at one of those high DPI ones. USB is being used because its faster/carries more power, Im pretty sure my keyboard wouldn't be able to light up the way it does on PS/2. I would buy the USB keyboard, its not like the keyboard being USB forces it to be more expensive.

Well heres what i would recommend because it seems like your wasting alot of time converting, and your probably losing quality for this reason and maybe another one too using your method. When you copy the video from your camera to your PC, do it in a raw UNCOMPRESSED format, Usually MPEG. Then take that file (its going to be enormous, at least a few gigs) and convert it to a DVD and you wont lose any quality as far as DVD quality goes.

how are you going to get caught? If someone comes up to you be like hey look i found this penny in the dispenser! They can't really prove you where the one putting them in there even if they open it and theres a bunch there. Overloard - There are alot of hidden "codes" as far as anything electronic goes, you can find them pretty easily by typing model numbers into google. Look on the back of a vending machine/write down the model number, alot of them are very similar if not exactly the same. For instance, If you are in an impatient mood and your on an elevator and don't want to let anyone else on (heh) when you select your floor, hold in the floor number button and the close door button at the same time and it will skip all the other floors even if people where pressing the button and go right to yours. This varies because sometimes you have to just press it, sometimes you have to press it and hold it the whole time, sometimes you press the floor, then both, etc.

The first day I had it (I didn't pre-order, I should have though) i played on some server with a whole bunch of people from YTMND which was pretty cool. Fyrestorm was in there haha. Too bad i'm still not that good (Getting pretty decent though)

I was actually disappointed by WAR. I watched it yesterday. The storyline was good, but the movie itself was kinda meh. Which sucks because i was really excited to see it.
