id go try a different rom then i don't remember anything like that when i briefly tried a CPS3 emulator but i might have just not been paying attention enough to notice (Unless its really obvious, i dont know if this is one of those for a split second things or what)

So i downloaded a supposed up to date ready to use with FBA-XXX Pro set of roms, but they are all in one folder, Do i have to separate them into CPS1, CPS2, Neo Geo, etc like how the folders are set up in FBA-XXX Pro? How do i do that? Or can I just throw them all in the folder?

I think you have to make sure that the filename of the ROM and the .sav are EXACTLY the same, and in the same directory (Or if the emulator has a special saves directory, put it in there) Of course dont change the file extension, keep them .sav/.whatever type of ROM it is

Okay so i sat down and played it and heres basically how i feel: The best game ever? No not really, A good game? Yeah alright, id give it an 8/10, The Reason to own a 360? Definitely if you like FPS games - But the 360 still has a pretty small library, a few years from now this wont hold much water.

that disc image is probably just screwed up then, What files are inside when you open it? (although even if they appear right it could still be screwed up) and do other burned games work fine in the PSX still? Maybe the chip got disconnected or some weird crap.

I would try downloading a new copy from xbins unless you downloaded it because it came with roms or something. unless your on a private tracker theres something really fishy going on with xbox files on bittorrent :/

There HAS to be some kind of plugin or option to let users choose, where we could turn it on and off in our CP or something, I think that would be the best decision (But default it to on)

oh yeah that sounds cool, I'll have to give it a try. Hopefully it doesn't end up like one of those awesome mods that no one plays making it suck. I love twitch shooters the most, Unreal, Quake, It just seems like a more straightforward no BS experience to me. Its all about reaction time,accuracy, and raw skill. Not flocking around with ducking and jumping and doing all this weird crap to get the guns to work. Then again im slowly backing out of the FPS genre, they pretty much all suck now, im tired of playing the same game over and over again with a different title. Hopefully Crysis or something turns out as awesome as they say because i've been dying for another killer FPS.

Just don't use crap CDs in the first place, and Alcohol has a verify data option if you really want to use it As long as you have a burner of decent quality (at least has buffer underrun protection) and some media of decent quality you should be fine though, especially since the PSX is pretty forgiving when it comes to that. I burn all my games for every system in Alcohol 120% at the RAW/DAO setting (Some PSX games will need you to check the Rectify Sub Channel Data checkbox, but most don't, so try it without that first) Also burn the disc at HALF the rated speed on the disc, i read that somehow thats actually better than the lowest speed on most burners anyway.

meh screw it, i looked at some tutorials for romcenter and the set i downloaded was screwed beyond repair luckily i found a super convenient FBA-XXX PRO Torrent with all the ROMs Hooray lazyness (but seriously there where so many files missing)

I swear by NOD32, its so small and efficient, by far the best whenever the new version comes out (in fact it might be out by now) im going to actually buy it just because i like it that much.

files which are there strangely (or at least in the few i checked) like individual files in the zips Im running RomCenter right now and its doing a bunch of renaming and moving around, is that what im supposed to do?

Damnit, so i have the NeoGeo.zip and the latest Universe BIOS, and it always comes up with all these files missing and then some of them load anyway and it goes to a black screen what do i do? I tried generating some DAT files or whatever but i dont really know what to do now

The gamestop next to my work was insane tonight because of the midnight launch, i was talking to one of the people that worked there who came in and he said they had 700 pre-orders, yeah, 700, they had so many copies of the game piled up they built a tunnel with them. He also said anyone who breaks the tape on the boxes before midnight automatically gets fired There where only like 5 people at 8, but by 9 there where so many people that the parking lot was completely full and people had to start parking in the wal-mart parking lot and walking over, there where even people grilling hot dogs and stuff outside

one other thing for people who might find this, i originally used Softmod Installer Deluxe 2.0 to mod it, and then used the newest NDURE installer so i would have an easy way of replacing the default dash (Lazyness, i wanted the dashboard folder haha) When i originally put the HDD in it was going to the MS dash, I then started the NDURE exploit installer again, but i only had the option to remove the exploit, so what i did was hit restore from restore disc, and picked the dash version i had (you can check in the MS dash) it of course failed because i dont have a restore disc, but after that it started booting to the XBMC dash again so it all works fine again

flock YES!!! haha i figured it out, Okay heres what you do when you get the HDD is frozen error when trying to lock Plug everything in, HDD as master, CDROM as Slave In your BIOS set the IDE Master to NONE, or whatever setting basically means Ignore whatever is on the primary IDE channel Boot the disc and it works!! I've also read that plugging the HDD in after the menu boots can work, or hotswapping the HDD into the Xbox with config magic can work, But the above method worked for me.

okay cool so i got XBMC as my default dash, and built a new HDD partition on my other drive, and everything is perfect except one thing i cant get the damn HDD to lock, when i run the linux boot disc on my PC it says i have to disable auto IDE detection in my BIOS, and i tried messing with some things that had to do with IDE channels and setting them to manual, and no matter what i tried it kept saying the drive was frozen and it couldn't lock >_< I'm positive its lockable though i looked it up, im screwing around with some configmagic thing right now but it doesnt seem to be helping (I cant even get it to run, im guessing i have to run it as a dashboard and not off a disc) I'm gonna go try to lock it with the PC boot disc in my other PC but if that doesnt work i hope im not screwed (and i obviously have my eeprom and all that) EDIT: Yeah its doing the same stupid thing in the other computer which doesn't surprise me because its a gateway and the BIOS doesn't let you do anything. I read if you plug it in after the PC boots it wont happen but that doesnt make any sense to me and sounds like it wont work and im too tired now to try it. What is the right way to run this config magic thing? as an app off the HDD? EDIT AGAIN: Yeah i have to run it as a program, and it opens and everything, but im afraid to touch anything and do this hot swapping crap without someone telling me exactly what to do because ill end up screwing myself

fantastic thanks, i knew there was a tool for it but i couldn't remember the name! When i get out of work today im going to FTP everything off my old drive, install the new one and FTP all the files onto it (or should i just plug it into my PC and copy them that way?) and it should work right? Then its just a matter of FTPing all my ROMs/some music for when i bring it to a friends. my next goal is to try and get XBMC as my dash (UnleashX seems kinda glitchy to me)

I would be perfectly fine with losing everything i have on it right now so re-doing the softmod isnt a big deal, and wouldnt it be easier to FTP everthing from the box as opposed to unlocking it and putting it in my computer? And is there any way i can put .7z files onto this? Theres no real efficient way i can think of to extract all these and only keep one version of each game I was thinking of using this 40GB i have right now (should fit most Gen/SNES/NES/NeoGeo roms which is all i feel like bothering to put on there) and all my movies are burned and music is real easy to stream. Softmodded, and i mean like in my main menu theres an option for "Emulators" but i cant figure out how to put anything in it, only for "Apps" and "Games" I was actually thinking of using XBMC as the main dash but i didnt think it was considered a "real" dash so there might be some weird reason not to, guess not though. Oh and when i upgrade the HDD, i could give a crap about Live, this Xbox will never see Live again, so if i end up losing everything or whatever im fine with that, i probably wont even play any xbox games. What is with this flocking filename size limit though? Is there any way around that? Its so annoying, and theres no way ill get all my music on there like this (i only bothered to clean up ID3 tags, which is good because if i really had to i could do a batch rename from the tags but id like to avoid it)
