I tested this on two PCs Specs of other PC: Core2Duo OCed 3.3GHz 2GB DDR2-800RAM X1950XTX video card SATA HDDs and the like I wouldnt say the games didnt work if i didnt test it on a decent PC, Nice theory, But you lose, Dont biatch at me, Im not in the mood. I didnt even bother to read the 9 paragraphs of crap you posted. I didnt put the Digg link in there either asshat. Know your crap before you open your mouth, I dont even know where your getting this information about what games i decided to play. A friend of mine is a subscriber to the service and i tried it out at his house on his PC as well. I no doubt had an adequate testing environment. The service sucks. Period. No this was NOT meant to be any type of professional review, nor is this meant to be a professional response. So ill finish with an unprofessional closing. Blow me asshole. P.S. If you know all this information about the PC i was on, and what games where played, Do you work for gametap? Does gametap collect this kind of information from its users normally? Sounds like GameTap is a little too spyware-like for my liking, Another reason not to subscribe to the crap service

maybe its time to drop some cash on advertising, uhh my dad does alot of PR work and stuff he could probably help. You have to realize its impossible to do this kind of thing and see any results without spending some money though (The advertising i mean)

plus emulation isnt illegal anymore, There was a law passed saying any software you cant just buy in a store (as in a real actual physical copy of the game) you are free to download. The only reason why i wrote the review the way i did was to make it more fun to read, I read reviews now and find them boring, i believe if your going to read a review it should at least be fun to read and you don't feel like your reading this long review just because you have to in order to find out if something is good or not. Either that or make it short and to the point, in which case would have attracted an entirely different crowd of whiners. Another thing i thought i would add: Last time i checked, No offense to anyone, we AREN'T a professional reviews site, sure we post reviews and news, but i don't see it in any way that is professional, we do it because we can, we are interested, and its fun sometimes. So i didn't even really feel the need to write in a professional tone. If i did this would have been completely different. I joined 1emulation because it was a laid back place where people with similar interests to mine could talk about stuff and relax. Maybe theres a decline in user activity because we are losing this laid back feeling and trying to be something we are not.

eh i dunno, Xbox 360 is basically a cheaper PS3 for me, they are both going to have pretty much the same games, with a few exclusives that arent really system sellers. (flock devil may cry, tekken, halo, etc)

Yeah, i forgot to mention something else too, You see all those windows where it says "buffering" and the space ghost one, It makes you watch commercials the whole way through. Most of them are commercials for the service your already paying for! like their stupid shows and stuff. But i did get a couple commercials for random websites and stuff. and they play when you download stuff too. And yeah i used to love MYST games, but i stopped playing after MYST 3, i didnt really like the idea of the whole online thing very much, its more mysterious on your own.

»» Digg It! So I decided I was going to give the GameTap service a spin. It was only a dollar (for 1 month trial) so I figured why not, it will probably suck, but at least I'll get to play some Silent Hill 3 (I've never played the PC version). Well it did suck...HARD! The first thing to see when you launch GameTap is this stupid AOL-like login screen. What is it doing? Who knows... But it can randomly take forever for almost no reason. Most of the time it doesn't take that long, but it's still really annoying to look at. After it goes through those three steps, it sits there saying logging in for awhile. Finally GameTap launches and you're greeted with this loud annoying spinning ball video that I guess is supposed to be a bunch of TV screens. I wont even include a screenshot because I'm already sick of looking at it. Then you're greeted with the main screen of the most bloated interface of anything I've ever seen ever. Sure you can make it run NOT fullscreen, which I guess helps, but it's still really annoying and stupid to use. Oh and it has all these retarded sound effects and animations. First we will go to My Gametap. Its basically your options screen, The favorites list is just like your favorite games, i guess your supposed to add the games you play the most to it. The downloaded tab shows all the games you have downloaded, and you can delete them here. The leaderboards...are leaderboards. The Challenge games menu. Oh heres a fun part, Its the online play part of GameTap. You know, The thing NO ONE IS PLAYING. Theres never anyone to play on the games you want to play, I played a guy in bubble bobble and it lagged and barely worked, its just stupid, dont bother. The account settings is basically your billing and stuff. Next is the games, you click through them, its pretty straightforward, those options at the top you can click on, same with the orange boxes which change according to which category you clicked up top. When you click on a game you get a little info screen like this Oh and notice those three circles in the bottom left, You can only have 3 things downloading at once...lame. This is by FAR the S-H-I-T-T-I-E-S-T part of gametap, GameTapTV Every show on it sucks, They are supposed to be funny but its all flocking retarded, its not entertaining, its boring, and it just made me mad watching the shows, none of them are even shows, they are like a minute long if that. They have music videos of bands that suck, stupid interviews with stupid people. Its like if you thought G4 was bad, you should really check this out, this is SO MUCH WORSE than G4, it makes G4 look like the best crap on TV you've ever seen. But how are the games? you ask. They suck. First of all, 90% of the games on here, you can play perfectly in an emulator FOR FREE. How do they play in gametap? barely. They stutter and look like crap, the emulation is just horrible. Anything not run in an emulator (like the PC games), well good luck. I downloading a handful and the only a couple of them even work, I tried them on multiple PCs, it just sucks. They made both of my PCs crash, and because of some stupid security measure it locks out CTRL+ALT+DEL. So your basically flocked, and you cant use your computer, i had to hard reset my computer trying to play these games so many times i lost count. Its flocking awful, i dont know how they get away with it. I started using a 3rd party task manager and thank god that worked. (All the games run from some non existent emulated X:/ network drive i found that out at least) Oh yeah and then theres that top bar, You can login to AIM, the two people gets you into that crappy multiplayer thing, and its pretty obvious what the rest of the buttons do. In short... It's not worth it.... Anything on here thats decent you can get in an emulator at a far better quality, and most of the decent PC games don't even work. Flock this seriously. I dont think its going to work with my motherboard and B. my power supply will explode. anyway to help you out (and what ill end up getting) Ive been researching this almost constantly, and the best cards you are going to get for your money are the following two ATi X1950XT ATi X1950XTX (if you have the money, but if your system can handle a GeForce 8, get that because its about the same price so theres really no point in getting this) The fastest version of the X1950XT is the ASUS version and the best deal seems to be on zipzoomfly for 300. If you want to get into dual video cards though this changes completely. Personally i just want to play everything maxed out full AA AF at 1280X1024. so i dont really need two.

alright well those new cheaper GeForce8800GTS cards came out, They only have 320MB of memory, But they still seem to be decent cards. I most likely wont be using it for DX10 at all, and just DX9. and my previous choice was a X1950XT or an X1950XTX. This is the fastest of the cheap GeForce 8s (300 dollar-ish range ones) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814150173 It looks like it will be able to outperform both the X1950XT and X1950XTX, and since it costs about the same, (cheaper than the X1950XTX actually) should i just get this? The only thing im worried about is i think i heard that DX10 cards have some trouble running older versions of DX (like 9, which is what pretty much all the games i play use) Is that true at all? can i finally get a video card and stop worrying about it!?

So i bought the Battlefield 1942 collection, which i had barely played at a friends house, and i officially cant stop playing battlefield vietnam, i suck at it but i that doesn't stop this instant insane addiction. does anyone else play?

Virtua On for the dreamcast is flocking HARD if you dont have the dual joysticks thing. MDK2 was really good, Its a little weird, but received awesome reviews from PC gamer back in the day (when they didnt suck, it was even on the cover if i remember right) and i imagine so did the dreamcast version.

i hope Jade Empire isnt TOO much like KOTOR though, i hated kotor, but i probably just hated it because it was star wars (which i find to be corny as hell) I dunno i played wow and i didnt see what the big deal was, i thought it was reallllllly repetitive and pretty boring, i played as a Tauren Shaman.

yeah from the very start i know someone will get DX10 on vista, its software, software can be screwed with pretty easily. It might have to use some weird emulation crap to run on XP, but with all the other crap slowing down Vista it probably wont make that much of a difference.

i used to use bitcomet a long time ago, but alot of sites banned it and i have a feeling never got around to unbanning it so i dont really bother anymore. i use uTorrent too. I hope it doesnt go to crap since its been bought out.

yeah game have been backwards compatible with older DX hardware for a long time now. HL2 goes back all the way to DX 7 i think, and UT2k4 i heard recently was 7 too, but i think thats wrong and its actually 8.

i think the store he bought it from was dumb or something and let him do it anyway, or didnt realize he was exchanging it for a different game. but okay yeah ill try guild wars it does look really cool. Does it require a beefy PC to run? beacuse i still havent ordered my new video card yet (other than that i have 1GB of DDR2-800 and a core 2 duo) those other RPGs too, fallout looks really cool, isnt there supposed to be a new one coming eventually or something?
