  1. I find PC gaming considerably cheaper than console gaming (Wink, wink, nudge, nudge).
  2. I hate Sony. I'm not going to stop buying their products (I'm rather greedy myself), but I hate Sony. I'm at a loss for how something like this gets noticed. Does Sony have a special division just for finding companies to screw over? I can't imagine they had to look for it for any other reason, and it doesn't seem like something that you'd see in the news. I swear, at this rate I'm going to end up as some sort of Anarchist that just plain hates the government for letting stuff like this happen.
  3. it's tennis, when has tennis ever need a story, just hit the god damn ball. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> By that definition, Fighting games don't need stories either. Just hit your god damn opponent.
  4. Good read. Gave me something to do during City of Heroes' daily maintenance.
  5. Their NES controller. During the NES/SNES transition they added four buttons. When the Sony/Nintendo deal went sour, Sony took the new controller design with them. The layout was identical save two more shoulder buttons. Later controllers added two analog sticks under the start/select buttons. Controllers from other companies are only slight variations on what I consider the standard. Nintendo likes to be innovative though, so they design all sorts of funky new controllers, and do crazy things like give a handheld an extra touch screen (the latter of the two worked out well). By far the oddest controller to date, there was actually a button on the back of the center protrusion (where the joystick is). Despite it's odd setup, the controller was one of the better things about the 64. Can't memorize button placement?: http://www.gamesfirst.com/previews/gamecub...oller_large.gif In an effort to help especially young children, Nintendo stretched, twisted, and bent the buttons so that they were all of different sizes and shapes, allowing those with short term memory loss to find buttons without looking at the controller. Unfortunately, finding buttons was never a problem, so Nintendo managed to create a new problem.
  6. I found RE4's controls cumbersome. The games you listed would actually be better of with Ninentendo's original design. The design that everyone but Nintendo uses now.
  7. Did you just say that game developers have no creativity??? I'm afraid you lose all credibility on that statement. And, yes, most games still need stories. If suddenly all games had no stories or backgrounds I'd just quit playing... because what would be the point? All you would be left with is straight mulitplayer games, puzzle games, and maybe some fighters and racers. Great single player games are already a dying art and losing the stories would basically finish them all off. It's truly sad that there are people like you who think this way. Go read some books and broaden your mind. Please! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think you're missing his point. He's trying to say that not all games need stories, not that stories should be removed from all games. He's also saying that he prefers multiplayer games over single player games, not that that's all that should exist. He clearly stated that RPGs need stories, because they are story driven, as opposed to nearly every other genre of game (which are all gameplay driven). He's also stated the quality of backstories, and the merit of having a game simply having a story, rather than a story being shoved down your throat. Lastly, he's said that stories belong in movies and books, as the point of that form of media is to tell a story, and the point of a game is interaction.
  8. Me too, but I still wouldn't go bad-mouthing GC's controller just because it's "different". <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm not bad mouthing it at all, and being different isn't why I don't like it. For any game that doesn't require reflexes, it's very good, try playing Megaman X: Command Mission (I think that's what it was called) on it. It just works. It's also easier to play with one hand than other controllers, due to well thought out gap in the middle that lets me hold it with my middle finger. Ultimately though, my thumb should be able to hit every button at once, without difficulty (to minimize movement from button to button), and it's hard to do that on this controller.
  9. See though, a lot of the people buying these systems don't have enough money for the things attatched to them, like toasters. I mean, I don't have a toaster, and if there was one attatched to a Revolution, I know I'd buy it. And on a side note, I prefer the Snes/Playstation controller setup, the only controller better than those is the Dreamcast's controller (counting the VMU's, which were awesome).
  10. must've been some good grass you just smoked to think of that one huh? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Duuuude, I totally had a space barbeque once... It had like...franks and...cultured beef products man, yeah...
  11. Xenogears contains the best story ever written for a video game...I think. The game is long, and it's at least 80% deep story. The characters are well thought out and well portrayed. Elements of drug use, religion, warfare, exploration, psychology, and some massive sci fi all fit themselves into the game. If you don't want to play the game, at least download a recording of someone else playing it. The SMT series gets props just for actually getting something remotely anti-christian into America. It didn't for a while, which kind of makes me want to cry, but it has recently, and it's continuing. The plots are cool, because they aren't the typical "go save something" plot of just about every game/book/movie. I'd rate the gameplay higher than the plot if I had to make the choice though.
  12. If ICP still wrestled, I'd almost be interested in it. But they don't, and it's relatively hard to find an interesting character amongst it all.
  13. So no. In fact, that's actually a fair chunk of the world. Just about everywhere but South America and Africa. And I missed why you can't reclaim the money yourself. Is this just some fraud that I can't recognize?
  14. We now know why Microsoft doesn't bother to fix any security holes. Well, the rest of you know it, I knew it all along.
  15. Aids doesn't immediately enter all of your cells. By applying AK602, the clean cells become resistant to HIV.
  16. I bought House of the Dead 3 for my X-Box last year, and if you beat it you get to play HotD 2, too. Freakin' awesome game.
  17. I'd buy that for a dollar. Oh, wait, no I wouldn't.
  18. I fully support the purchase of this game. I should have reviewed it myself, long ago, but I was lazy. Maybe I'll throw up a Digital Devil Saga review to make up for it.
  19. I want to teleport two days forward in time, collect the Magic cards I ordered, and go to my monthly lan. That's what I'm doing the rest of my life.
  20. http://www.catay.com/fatkid/playground.asp I don't even remember how I found this page, but this has to be the most ironic story I've evver read. When you find "Jedi Knight" on a site about fat kids what comes to mind? Honestly! And then he gets in trouble for not eating his entire lunch! So genius it makes me question its authenticity.
  21. Beck - Loser Soy un perdedor I’m a loser baby, so why don’t you kill me?
  22. I did know they died from not having immunity to our diseases, the fact that that's what killed them is lame. And no, I don't really know the source material it's based on, but I don't think that being similar to the book makes it a better movie. And how do I put spoiler tags on things?
