What are your other interests besides computers?
OverlordMondo replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I like learning, as odd as that may sound. It doesn't seem to be a very popular thing these days. :\ Math, Science, Religion, Anti-Religion, Computers (which aren't included in this thread), classic literature. Not art though. I only really appreciate art when it's used for a purpose other than decorating a home or museum. I love debating, especially controversial things. I play Magic: The Gathering. One of the few places I enjoy art (when I'm pounding people with it). And music, of course. It's just standard that our generation loves music. We're surrounded by it. Everywhere we go there's music. Some places don't have music, like outside. So I fix it with headphones. There are other problems with being outside, but I have other solutions for those. -
I'm heavily Irish, and I despise this Holiday. This isn't an Irish holiday, this is a Catholic holiday that managed to begin in Ireland. The creation of more god-slaves is nothing to celebrate.

I side with her husband. In fact I would've done it several years ago. I know that, for me at least, that's the worst possible torture you could administer someone. Something so horrible that they can't even tell it's been done to them.

DS. PSP games blow. You can list a few to try to prove me wrong. But I can't think of very many games for the PSP at all, much less good ones.

Battle Hunter. That's all I have to add. I've had problems getting some games to display properly myself. Most square games I have a problem with...and just those. Is there a good FAQ for configurations somewhere?

McGwire Refuses to Say if He Used Steroids
OverlordMondo replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
Watching Baseball is never interesting. And I wouldn't really equate steroids to cheating. It's much more similar to Cliffnotes. -

I agree with every statement made thus far. -
McGwire Refuses to Say if He Used Steroids
OverlordMondo replied to Alpha's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I don't see what the big deal about him using steroids is. It's not like the other players don't have access to them. And if they have so many drawbacks, then why would they be illegal to use anyway? It seems like a fair tradeoff. -
Advance Wars DS is one of the reasons I bought my DS. Though one would expect it to be called DS Wars. That sounds lame though.

GI is qutie nice. i get mine for free for a whole year when i signed up for the value card at gamestop for used games. i think its still like that. its only 5 bucks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> 10$, but it's worth it, as you get a 10% discount on all used games, videos, and accessories.

Kinda wish I'd subscribed now too since it was free. But I really prefer GMR and GI to EGM and Opium or whatever else you subscribed to.

That was great. And I love Trigger Happy TV. Go. Watch it. Now.

I support this ban on religion, as well as the ban on golf and American rugby.

Microsoft is more of a b**** then I thought
OverlordMondo replied to Lucandrake's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
It doesn't really matter because Halo blows so hard anyway. I have an even better idea. On the same day, I'm going to release the next Duke Nukem game. It will be on PC and every console. And just for kicks I'll release it for the Gameboy (but not for the PSP cause the PSP will have failed miserably by then). -
I just got my GCE O Levels result!
OverlordMondo replied to Samurai Edge's topic in Gossip Café [/offtopic]
I might get that. :\ At least I'm pitied. -
I just got my GCE O Levels result!

Are those like that ACT/SAT here in America? I got a 28 on my ACT, which I'm fairly content with. -
What 'older audience' games have been released so far? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well the dating sims certainly weren't intended for children. And quit baggin' on the DS. It's a perfectly good system.

Guns 'n Roses - Mr. Brownstone (I used to do a little but a little wouldn't do it so a little got more and more, just keep trying to get a little better just a little better than before...) -
Prepare yourselves mortals, I am about to define roleplaying. Get ready for this one. In a roleplaying game, you play the role of a different person. This simple line of text seems to confuse many people, so let me clarify which games are roleplaying games, and which aren't. DnD, the original roleplaying game, involved making a character from scractch, interacting with fellow humans, and creating the story from an equal amount of scratch. Everything your character did, you made it do. This makes the orginal DnD the template for all true RPGs to come. In Super Mario Brothers (where you definitely play as someone other then yourself), you control mario's body until a cutscene (not many in Mario, but bear with me), at which point Mario takes over and controls himself again to further the plot. This means that this is NOT a roleplaying game. As you are not playing his role, but merely moving him forward as he plays it himself. In Final Fantasy, you play as several other people until a cutscene, at which point the game takes over and controls itself again to further the plot. This means that Final Fantasy is NOT a roleplaying game. In Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines, you control your character until you reach another sentient character, at which point you interact with him/her via a menu of diverse choices. Since you retain control of your character during all conversations (also meaning that this game isn't the best example, wink wink), this IS a roleplaying game. In Diablo II, you hack through streams of monsters as you move through large dungeons to reach a boss with some phat loot. That means that this is NO WHERE NEAR a roleplaying game. The reason they're all viewed as RPGs is because they all use statistics (except Mario :\). But seeing as you're no longer playing a role in Final Fantasy or Diablo, they're no longer RPGs. Hope this cleared up some confusion.

It's a few months old... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That's not old in this situation.

Back to Agozer's question, I'd recommend Neverwinter Nights and it's expansions. Beautiful translation of DnD from paper to PC. Baldur's Gate I haven't played yet. And Morrowind is fun, but just doesn't quite cut it for me. The whole thing just feels odd compared to most RPGs. And FF9 still blows, because I didn't enjoy playing it overall. hot & Cold probobly had a lot to do with that though. :\ If you don't know what it is, it's getting on a chocobo and running around an oddly shaped area for 30 seconds pecking at the ground and hoping you hit something. If you don't hit something you'll get a message saying how far away you are. It can be nearly impossible to hit the sweet spot for finding the items that don't blow, and it takes forever for the rare items to spawn anyway. I literally spent days playing this lame mini-game, just because I had nothing else to do at the time. I have yet to actually complete it. Back on the topic of Neverwinter Nights. Can someone lend me their CD Keys? It sounds odd, but I just bought Hordes of the Underdark and I want to play it, unfortunately my NWN Gold manual has gone missing, so I can't reinstall it to play Hordes of the Underdark. If there are any other solutions, let me know.

Hot & Cold wasn't "rather lame", it was the worst thing to ever grace the video game industry. I'd rather play Stake then play Hot & Cold. And you're one who says he likes to avoid tedium. Yet you enjoy the Final Fantasy with the MOST tedious mini game in it, EVER. And the other ones weren't nearly as bad. Chocobo racing/breeding was great fun. The weird chocobo whistle thing was similar, the only difference was that it wasn't random and didn't make what you were searching for have a 1% chance of being found. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> DAIKITANA. Sorry, but that is a complete disgrace at anything in video games. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Compared to Hot & Cold, Daikatana is KOTOR.
