hey gryph. i understand where your coming from.. in AP Bio we had couple of discussions about creationism vs evolutionism.. and im willing to hear all you guys' thoughts... and gryph what you said about the earth being flat..yes it was christian "scientists" who said that the earth was flat..no?.... Please give me a good exemple of how you can see god work on your life with your own two eyes. Before we knew the earth was round, people believed in a flat earth. This is true. So could it not also be true that before we knew about evolution, people believed in creationism? Please leave me a bit of time to find the other ones, I'm getting a little tired. haha..theres only 2 things buddy.. and the two things that i've seen God work in my life?.. i went to missions trip to honduras and ecuador.. my church did street evangelism in the center of Ponceloma... up to 20-30 people gave their life for God and we saw miracles such as the crippled being able to walk.,him being able to dance up and down..and no it wasn't a trick..because i saw it with my two eyes...i dont care if you guys beileve it or not.. i know me and my church did.. also about knowing creatiionism before evolutionism. im guessing that we did..because there was christians before evolution came up.. christians believe in creationism.

How many (and which ones) get in? different branches of christianity such as protestant, mormon, presybterian basically all have same idea.. to get into heaven is through Jesus Christ its all the same.however little things here and there is what divides them.. Jews in the other hand dont believ ein Jesus Christ..

many people belive in Christianity because they've seen it with their own two eyes on how God works in their life.. im not dissing you or anything but hell there are so many more intellectual peole out in this world.. you think whenever a person converts to christianity..their life is perfect?/ hell no..its more trouble for them because being a christian is different..people look down on christians.... they struggle even more being a christian.

how do you know that the Bible is fake?.. your saying in this Earth all the millions of people that are Christian is stupid enough to believe in a less realistic assumption.. i highly doubt that.. and about having so many different religions,, its the same as why there are so many ideas in science. each people see soemthing and try to understand it by mkaing up reasons. information wise, there isnt nearly as much evidence of truth as there is for christianity PLUS.... almost all other religions (except for muslims and jews) base their belief off of what someone thought. also about believing..Christians beileve IN Jesus Christ/God because we have witnesses and testimonies from other people that God is real.. unless your a Christian that has felt God's presence and not some kid who went to church unwillingly shouldn't be saying that.. and also about the ethocentric/mice.. i do admit that humans think that they are so great or whatever, but i honestly dont think that has anything to do with religion or why religion was made because Humans do the same thing when it comes to God its not like we let God take control. Most cases, we do worse to God then when we say we cant be from mice cause we go a step further and say we know better then God and spit in his face

yea so how reliable is science? if it keeps on changing? the Bible doesnt change,,, I believe the first 5 books were wriiten by Moses and it never changed.. though the scholars translated the Bible into many different languages..the meaning behind the Bible never changed. and for the theory..maybe i heard that wrong so I wont say more about that..but science gets disproven. no?.. That's exactly the point of science. It doesn't just keeps changing as you say. A theory is considered valid if it is proven right with the current knowledge. To prove it wrong, one needs to have valid arguments against it. That's exactly why it is reliable: a theory proven wrong is left behind, and a theory isn't considered true if there are no proofs. That's not like believing blindly in something written long ago with no proofs to back it... My family is also christian. But why would I believe something only because a priest says so, and because it is written in a book? Now, please explain me something: why are there so many religions? If what is said in the Bible, why would there be the Coran? And why wouldn't jews become christians as well? Believing in something just because it is written is very easy. Trying to back what one says with proof is much harder. Most people just follow the easy way... (Actually, that goes for science as well. Most people will believe something if a scientist says it and he has the agreement of the scientific community. Except with science, you can look for his evidences and try to prove him wrong.) About evolution or creation, I think it's evolution. And here is why I think creation was invented: humans tend to be ethocentric and want to believe they are special. "Oh, we are so intelligent, we just can't have a common ancestor with mices and bacterias." and although it is a hypothesis the idea that the world was flat was a postulate (more firm than a hypothesis) thats why so many people believed it given that it was WAY back when in the past but still.. and then there were alchemists that thought they could turn any element into Gold which cant be done and then there are people today still arguing over what the atom actually looks like so... science is always changing even the fundementals of science is all theories everything that sciecce is, Is based on a huge assumption.

Ofcourse I believe in that because I have SCIENCE and PROOF on my side. You just have faith, that's nothing compared to scientific research. I had to go take a shower and go to class but when I'm at work I will have time to respond to that. But this one just caught my eye: What the flock do you thinks they do experiments and research for? Do you even know what a hypotheisis is?! Don't use words that you don't know and don't say things that you can't defend with proof or a decent arguement. I am not attacking Christianity or any religion. Hell, if I still believed in God I would probably think that God put that single prokaryote in the ocean and said "Let there be life! LOL!" flock??. haha.. i know what that word means.. Hypothesis: an educated guess and i'll defend anything that you guys say against christianity. although im not a scholar or a person who studied theology..i 've been going to church for quite a while and im pretty sure ill defend anything you guys bring up.. and yea scientists bring up so many hypothesis and theories and later find out its wrong..and so they bring up another hypothesis/theory its a process that keeps repeating over and over..

Dude, I was born a christian, but I've relinquished my fate in Christianity because I find it tiresome and controlling like Cuba. no man.you got it wrong..the bible hasn't been rewritten..its be translated over but not rewritten , there s difference.. (we = christians) im a christian and ill defend my viepoint.. we didnt' create God so that it'll justify our existence in this world, theres proof, the Bible its been wriiten by people who have been witnesses of God's love, anger,..etc.. even now there are people who feel God's presence, who have received God's miracle in their life and they come up and tell us...atheists/ other religious can't say how christianity is this and that because they never felt God's presence in their life..and thats what i believe... and to Mr.Gryph on this one.or to everyone thats on this forum thats not a christian.. You guys are saying your ancestors were tiny little protists ??? that were floating in water? and somehow through natural selection that little protist became a fish..than turned into a frog..than something that was able to live on land?? than became us??.. thats bogus..hahah..in my opinion... and one more thing.. i say science is unreliable..how many hypothesis do scientists make and later on finds out that its wrong..they do it over and over..and somehow they think they found the answer..but its still wrong.... i love these threads.. no flaming christians.!!
