Gryph Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 Yup, he has stepped down from his position as Attorney General. But I doubt any of the things he did like the PATRIOT Act are going anywhere anytime soon but this is a good step. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...pe/bush_cabinet

KyokugenKiss Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 oh well....I wish Micheal Powell would resign
Agozer Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 It's rumored that Colin Powell and Donald Rumsfeld are thinking about resigning.
Sturmvogel Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 Good riddance...I'm sure they'll replace him with someone of the same calibur.
Gryph Posted November 10, 2004 Author Posted November 10, 2004 It's rumored that Colin Powell and Donald Rumsfeld are thinking about resigning.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Colin Powell leaving the cabinet has been assumed since the earliest times in the administration. As someone said in a book (forget who, I think it's Bob Woodward), he's a dove amongst hawks.
Swithin Posted November 10, 2004 Posted November 10, 2004 Yeah, one of the most heart-breaking things in this administration is that I *used* to have hope that Colin Powell would do Great Things in American politics... now he's just another whipped dog in the neocon camp, and he doesn't even look like he's been brainwashed. He looks like he disagrees with everything he does... and yet he does it anyway. Sad, really.
Chaotica Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 Another guy in the Bush administration resgned too. Forgot his name.
KyokugenKiss Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 yea...i once thought Colin Powel would be our first black president
Gryph Posted November 11, 2004 Author Posted November 11, 2004 Another guy in the Bush administration resgned too. Forgot his name.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Commerce Secretary Don Evans resigned too. Our new Attorney General is Alberto Gonzales! Looks like they're about to make out.
darkmage479 Posted November 11, 2004 Posted November 11, 2004 buzz on the web is that Ashcroft (or Scarecroft as we call him in the Democratic People's Republic of Maryland) may compete for the open spot on the Supreme court when Rehnquist bites it. Of course having Chief Justice Scalia and Justice Ashcroft on the court would blow majorly. Goodbye Roe v. Wade.
