Gryph
Yup, he has stepped down from his position as Attorney General. But I doubt any of the things he did like the PATRIOT Act are going anywhere anytime soon but this is a good step. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...pe/bush_cabinet

Gryph
It's rumored that Colin Powell and Donald Rumsfeld are thinking about resigning.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Colin Powell leaving the cabinet has been assumed since the earliest times in the administration. As someone said in a book (forget who, I think it's Bob Woodward), he's a dove amongst hawks.
Swithin
Yeah, one of the most heart-breaking things in this administration is that I *used* to have hope that Colin Powell would do Great Things in American politics... now he's just another whipped dog in the neocon camp, and he doesn't even look like he's been brainwashed. He looks like he disagrees with everything he does... and yet he does it anyway. Sad, really.

darkmage479
buzz on the web is that Ashcroft (or Scarecroft as we call him in the Democratic People's Republic of Maryland) may compete for the open spot on the Supreme court when Rehnquist bites it. Of course having Chief Justice Scalia and Justice Ashcroft on the court would blow majorly. Goodbye Roe v. Wade.
