Killer Instinct Slow Frame Rate

I recently got this rom and i got it working with Mame 0.88b.

 

The thing is that the frame rate is really slow. about 5fps.

 

Anyone know any way I can speed up the frame? Is there a different version of mame or other emulator that will improve the performance?

 

I have windows xp 1.5ghz P4 256 Ram. Maybe that has something to do with it.

I get about 50FPS on a 2gig SO yeah your CPU is slow.

To get better speed with your setup, I'd suggest stop using MAME to play it and get U64Emu (formerly KIAME).

 

btw, you need to get new KI img files, since the MAME chd's don't work with U64Emu.

I recommend this as well, the u64emu even runs at good (if not, full) speed on my old pc (700mhz)!

i got a p4 3 ghz, 1 gig of ram and KI and KI2 run fair enough. I guess it would still need more power to run at full speed.
