KamiKaze Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 I've donwloaded svcplus.zip (hm... As far as I know I downloaded SNK vs CAPCOM Plus) file that has 15 files in it : 269-p1p.bin269p_c1.rom269p_c2.rom269p_c3.rom269p_c4.rom269p_c5.rom269p_c6.rom269p_c7.rom269p_c8.rom269p_m1.rom269p_s1.rom269p_v1.rom269p_v2.rom269p_v3.rom269p_v4.rom I've downloaded NeoRageX emulater that supports this game as well ( got neogeo bios files too, btw)... Now, what should I do to make the game run? (should I do some renamings or something like that?)
Agozer Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 (edited) You put the Zip archive inside the roms folder and you can rename the archive to anything you like. (You might also want to rename the files before the "_", unless you like identifying which file go to which game simply by looking at the cart IDs... but this is secondary as NeoRAGEx could care less how the files or archive as named.) start the emulator and click Import, hopefully the game comes up in the list somewhere. Then click Launch/Play. Edited December 3, 2004 by Agozer
KamiKaze Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 (edited) Noppers... It said 0 games found and the game's name in the list stayed blanked... Maybe I should use some other emulator? Edited December 3, 2004 by KamiKaze
Agozer Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 (edited) NeoRAGEx only recognizes files with the rom extension and _, not -. So, rename 269-p1p.bin to 269_p1p.rom I'd suggest renaming everything to match eachother, like svcplus_p1.rom, pvcplus_m1.rom, svcplus_s1.rom etc. EDIT: Also, use these: http://www.geocities.com/svc_fixes/ Edited December 3, 2004 by Agozer
KamiKaze Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 Still no effect... Tried to change all the names (to '_') to 'svc' and 'svcplus' and used the fixes... But emulator won't detect the game anyway...

KamiKaze Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 Hm... Could this be non-neo-geo rom by any chance? Could it be MAME rom for example ?
Agozer Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Hm... Could this be non-neo-geo rom by any chance? Could it be MAME rom for example ?All the sets of SVC that float in the net are pretty much universal. The is no non-Neo-Geo set.
James Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Hm... Could this be non-neo-geo rom by any chance? Could it be MAME rom for example ?<{POST_SNAPBACK}>No Mame tends to use Bin instead of rom.Lets hope that these roms are in a zip file
KamiKaze Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 (edited) No Mame tends to use Bin instead of rom.Lets hope that these roms are in a zip fileYes, they were zipped all the time... Yap... I couldn't be MAME rom either. MAME needs a rom of 17 files... Hm... Just tried to change the names to the ones that are in the DAT file list thread. Well, emulator did find the game this time, but when I try to lunch it, it says something about an error in dfx files... Edited December 3, 2004 by KamiKaze
Agozer Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Hm... Just tried to change the names to the ones that are in the DAT file list thread. Well, emulator did find the game this time, but when I try to lunch it, it says something about an error in dfx files...Error in gfx files. It means that you most likely have a bad P1 or M1 rom (in all likelyhood it's the P1, since that is what mostly borks when using NeoRAGEx)
