I think it would be intesting to see the past of Kakashi and Itachi but I'm not sure how thats going to connect with everything considering if you connect it with the episodes right now....or the movie :/

doesn't the snow nin have these weird weapons and they used it to capture naruto, i think i saw this in the promotion

yeah they mentioned the new "advance" technology they have from the Hidden Country of Snow, but not only that, they are doing summonings as well, you will see Kakashi's new summons as well the snow nins.
