Gryph Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Nope, all you need is a boot disc. That's the magic of the DC and the main reason why I got one.

zman Posted December 14, 2004 Posted December 14, 2004 Hold up... Do not purchase a Dreamcast that is dated November or Newer...As Sega changed the bios in the November Models...Also you do not need the boot disk if you use the swap method. A little info beforhand saves on the trouble later...
Inky Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 mine plays any bootable game with out a boot disk or swap method. mine is a release date model I got at midnight on the day they came out. and I've heard that even the post november ones will work with a boot disk.
Mag Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 most imports doesn't need the Utopia bootdisk, try it before using it.
Wizard Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 Iso imports don't need bootdisks. Actual imports need a bootdisk.
