PLasticSlug
Im currently "trying" to play halflife, (gave it to my brother for a month and a half and he was supposed to give me his gfx card but he didnt whatever...) I dont have the money to buy a gfx card so i decideded to buy some ram instead currently im running 256 mb of ram and thinking of upgrading to 512,at a price of about $100, will this signigicantly help the load times and studdering that i incounter in the game? running it on medium settings and refuse to play anthing lower, runs great but my load times are well over 10 min and i get a lot of studdering. my specs 2 GHZ P4256 MB (currently 58% Utilized w/ a few windows up)RADEON 9800 SERIES Thanks Edited January 3, 2005 by PLasticSlug
Gryph
Yes, a jump from 256 to 512 should do a lot actually. BUT!! You're upgrading to 512 at a price of $100?! That is the BIGGEST rip off ever. Hell, 512 mb modules cost less than 100. 256 mb ones should be less than $40.

Gryph
They got rid of it because no one really uses it anymore, it rarely comes with computers now. They've all switched the DDR.
kaioshade
It was/still is fast as hell though. But yea, DDR ram has soundly beaten it.
