This one is going to take place during the American colonization period so that should be fun and I've always liked the other two Age of Empires games.

Because hardware generations change practically every 6 months as oppose to consoles.

I love RTS! I had an old game call Rival Realms, but doesn't work on XP, that was my favourite game! Anyway, I might get it for PC if it's cheap.
