DC++ is teh sex. For now at least.

IM programs would be good file-trading channels if people would just bother to finfigure them properly. :devilboy:

You can search files through IM?? :D

No. You contact friends and beg them to give you files. :P

:devilboy: like how I beg Gryph to give me the CVS2 iso :P

which is unsuccessful :( (He wants to give me the file but the file

can't get through IM )

I just reinstalled DC++ and it doesn't let me get any File Lists. I opened up some ports but that didn't fix it. flock it.

I give up on DC++ a long time ago.

I also give up on Kazaa when I found that I only download porn from it :P

Here's an interesting bill being put forth to the California Legislature: http://news.com.com/State+bill+could+cripp...ubj=news.1028.5

It basically says that P2P developers who don't take reasonable care to make sure their program doesn't allow movie and music swapping could face a year in jail and/or $2500 fine.

It will probably never pass but that's just to show the lengths that are being taken to stop P2P.

Version?

Latest one. 0.668.

Were you able to search normally? Try setting yourself to Passive if all else fails.

Search didn't work either.

But I don't want to be passive. I guess that's what I'll try later.

Most likely you won't have another choice... Passive fixes there kinds of things, but yes, it's more lacking than Active.

But whatever.
