Agozer Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 I mean, you have to know a little bit about ROMs and how they work before you can use it. I think it should be a requirement before you even try to play emulated games. While I sorta agree, they still have the right to ask questions. I think I should create a script that automatically replies with 'RTFM' when a question like this is asked. j/k
ritzi Posted January 20, 2005 Author Posted January 20, 2005 Ok.. I get it. So before using the RomDataMaker, I finished downloading the Clone MAME by James and tried the "encrypted" svc rom... this is what I got.. Isn't this the part where I have to make the.DAT file?
Agozer Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 (edited) MAME does not use DATs that RomDataMaker creates. You filenames do not match those that MAME expects (or CRCs, depending how james put the build together). Edited January 20, 2005 by Agozer
Gryph Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Better yet, just take a screenshot of you the ROM zip open. And make sure you have show CRCs enabled. To do that, go to Options -> Configurations -> Check the CRC box in the Columns thing.
Agozer Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 (edited) It's a bit unnerving that James' build does not show the CRCs. Not that I couldn't check it otherwise, just a slight annoyance. *hint* *hint* Edited January 20, 2005 by Agozer
