FBA Compiling Problems

ahahahaha!!! "fbasrc"

wonder how many of us actually use that name for the FBA source folder? :P

What's wrong with it? What's the name of your folder? I changed it from fba_0294894_src to that so it'd be easier to type. But more importantly, got any clue what that error is?

the folder name i used? the same as yours. its all but a shallow thought so you can forget about it :P

also, i cant remember the workaround for that problem. at worst, if i remember correctly i just reinstalled everything then all worked fine.

check cygwin.txt for a binutils version that you should NOT use, that may be the one youre using and the one thats causing the problem, but thats just a guess.

the source actually isnt badly documented, but it has its own holes unfortunately.

Jan Klassen posted this over at the FBA forums where I asked for help:

It seems you have a version of Perl that's too old. I don't use nsPerl, and as I've never heard of anyone having that problem I don't know how to fix it, sorry. The warnings should be harmless, you can get rid of them by using the version of gcc we used to build that source, which is 3.3 for the latest and (I think)either 3.3 or 3.2 for 0.2.94.98.

So I'm going to get a new version of Perl and I might get the new GCC but that's not important since those warnings are harmless. What version of Perl do you use? I was amazed he wasn't using nsPerl since that's the one recommended in the documentation.
