Gryph
Well it's being posted everywhere else so might as well post it here. # CPU - Xenon's CPU has three 3.0 GHz PowerPC cores. Each core is capable of two instructions per cycle and has an L1 cache with 32 KB for data and 32 KB for instructions. The three cores share 1 MB of L2 cache. Alpha 2 developer kits currently have two cores instead of three.# GPU - Xenon's GPU is a generation beyond the ATI X800. Its clock speed is 500 MHz and it supports Shader 3.0. Developers are currently working with an alpha 2 GPU. Beta GPU units are expected by May and the final GPU is slated for a summer release. The final GPU will be more powerful than anything on the market today; in game terms, it would handle a game like Half-Life 2 with ease.# System Memory - Xenon will have 256 MB of system RAM. Keep in mind that this number should not be equated to typical PC RAM. The Xbox has 64 MB of system RAM and is a very capable machine. http://xbox.gamespy.com/xbox/microsoft-xbox/594331p1.html

But seriously, with these specs, XBOX2 is going to kick some hainous anus. I don't know if I have saliva glands powerful enough to last me till the end of this year. Haha. Anon. Gryph
Actually those specs are less than what was predicted. The rumors were 3x3.5 ghz PowerPC CPUs. Everything else was pretty much correct, the next gen ATI, the 256 RAM. The camera is quite surprising though. However, I think the PS3 will be more powerful. The PS3 will have 9 cores in a single CPU, and is likely to have 2 CPUs which means 18 processing units. But the XBOX2 is coming out this year, PS3 isn't. Bluestinger X
sounds great and Ill be defently getting one.. the only thing i kinda see a downer is the dvd.. why not get a better format? since dvd is on the end of its rope almost.
Thraxen
I am a bit surprised they stuck with standard DVDs, but I'm sure it won't matter. The vast majority of XBox games only take up a single layer on a DVD... most range from about 1.5 - 4 GB.
BlackKnight
The DVD thing isn't suprising... developers will be hard pressed to generate much more content that a dual layer DVD can store in most cases. However, while that X800 superior GPU is interesting, I can't help but think that it's all going to be whiped out by the Cell...
