Hehe...damn Sony and their Emotion Engine! The main reason I'm not discounting the CELL architechture is because of IBM's involvement, they have some of the most advanced technology and some of the best fabs.

But Doom 3 still takes the cake for looking like a CG Movie.

Yeah, imagine Carmack's next (hopefully not last) engine. Pure graphical awesomeness. You kind of wonder how anyone will improve on UE3.

Yeah, the amount of geometry, it's complexity and the texture and lightmaps are unbelievable. Unreal Engine 3 is really something to behold. And I still think UE and UE2 look great.

A lot of people find the Unreal series bland and uninspired. I just find them fun.

 

But Unreal Engine is completely different from Unreal since people can make any kind of game with it.
