Golden Axe problems

I got this error on my Golden Axe MAME rom.

goldnaxe: 317-0123a.bin 4096 bytes NOT FOUND - NO GOOD DUMP KNOWN

 

What does it mean and do i need to get a rom replacement for it? thx

Hmm...do you have the right set? I know there are a lot of sets for that one.

It means that that rom is technically bad, and a re-dump of it is needed. The game may or may not be playable, or may just have minor glitches during play. I'm pretty sure there is a version of it in mame that works correctly. If you use clrmame you can have it create a *dummy* file, so that it won't technically show up as missing.

Any rom that is "No good dump known" is optional, and the game will attempt to run without it. Probably a good idea to get that rom, but since there is no good dump known, you won't know if you've gotten a good one or not.

Even if there is a dummy rom it will stay say "No good dump known"

Sets 2,3,4 are the only ones known to be working.

It will still attempt to load the bad rom But may have nissing GFX or Bad program code.
