using winamp to make new wav's of napster wmas?

ok, well i grabed a few songs from napster's free 15-day trial and i read that i could use winamp to make wavz of the protected files using a output stacker plugin but for some odd reason it just doesn't seem to work for me and i'm wondering if anyone else had any luck trying to do this?

 

i'm using winamp 5.07 pro and dietmar's output stacker

Napster's protocol sucks. Not going to work, unless you loop a wire to your inline and record it in thru that.

I memmer this old version of the wma codec for db poweramp that would decrypt, but they replaced it with one that doesn't do that

 

btw, wma files are actually encrypted by M$ you know

now i thought of using a recorder of sorts and i tested using windows xp's own sound recorder and it came out well except the xp's sound recorder seems to have a 60sec limit which sucks.

 

i grabbed sound forge 8.0 that a friend recomended but for some odd reason when i attempt to record, everything comes out as an echo

 

anyone used that app before or can recomend something better?

I know there isn't a software engineer who's going to publically release software to decrypt those audio files and risk getting a lawsuit by M$

i'm not expecting a miracle but just a work around and using something like sound recorder does it just fine for me but tryin to figure out how to use sound forge to do as such is just bothering me as i'm new to it.

there is some music that i do support buying but most of the songs i grabbed from napster were old latin songs which are kinda hard to find at music stores around me unless i end up going to ny at some family occasion which is rare.

 

i just really wanna make a mp3 disc out of them and their gone.
