fatal crash

I've been able to use windows mugen without being able to use most caharacters. When i try to start DOS mugen, i get the "can't enter video mode" error, without even being prompted to change modes. The first time it happens, it automatically fails back to the desktop. The second time, the screen goes black, i can't alt-tab or ctrl-alt-delete or anything, and i have to manual shutdown. This has happened a few times. Does anyone have a clue to fixing this?

tha same exact same thing happened 2 me deleted it a downloaded it again i havent had a problem since...

nope, nothing. i even tried using an earlier version.
