Official Battlefield 2 demo anticipation thread

So the demo isn't going to come out tomorrow like it has been widely reported. This is what BF2 producer Ben Smith had to say (taken from the live Gamespy chat with him):

So how many of you plan on getting the demo the day its released or a few days within its release? I think if any of you here will get it, we should try to meet up and play. For now it seems the game will be released on the official site and at Gamespot where they say that no registration will be required.

I think I'll wait for the full game to come out and watch you guys play the demo. Then I'll buy the game.

 

Though I'm debating whether to buy this one or save my money for SW: Battlefront 2.

Well, the demo is out but every site is being hammered to hell. I'm going to wait till a torrent is released. If you want to try to get it from a site, try these:

I heard that a lot of users have been having problems getting it to run. A friend of mine downloaded the demo but it refused to run.

It seems theres a small patch for that. I haven't installed it yet my self but picked up the small patch talk @ an IRC chan - which I also didn't confirm.

Worked fine for me. Took me a while to get the controls just right. Some dumbass over at DICE decided to bind End to bring down the console and didn't let you change it in game. Also, in order to get the controls just right, I had to unbind everything (it's a lot) and redo them.

 

But it's worth it. The game works and plays great.

Sry to double post, but this game is really fun for a demo. I enjoy the vehicles a lot (especially the airplanes if they weren't so damn hard to drive)

im going 2 dl it now , iits a pretty big file but meh , i ll try it... the gfx looks tight
