Gryph Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 http://www.news.com.au/story/0,10117,15739502-13762,00.htmlUS scientists have succeeded in reviving the dogs after three hours of clinical death, paving the way for trials on humans within years. Pittsburgh's Safar Centre for Resuscitation Research has developed a technique in which subject's veins are drained of blood and filled with an ice-cold salt solution. The animals are considered scientifically dead, as they stop breathing and have no heartbeat or brain activity. But three hours later, their blood is replaced and the zombie dogs are brought back to life with an electric shock. Now this is certainly interesting.
Agozer Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 It's like a friend of mine said: Science fiction of yesteryears is today's reality.
Agozer Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Except flying cars.Yeah, but I think those will come eventually. Not in our lifetime maybe.
Diso Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 The day of the dead is among us...and Agozer will be their king

Weirdy Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 reminds me of that one dog that's head was detached from the body but blood was being artificially pumped to the brain and the dog was still alive
Skythe Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Except flying cars.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> Unless you're high and happen to see a hovercraft.
OverlordMondo Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 Flying cars are something that just don't have any real purpose. By the time our buildings are tall enough that flying cars might actually have a meager purpose, our elevators will be advanced enough that it doesn't matter. Hovering cars though, that's almost reasonable. So long as there's some benefit to being off the ground (less friction?).
Agozer Posted June 28, 2005 Posted June 28, 2005 reminds me of that one dog that's head was detached from the body but blood was being artificially pumped to the brain and the dog was still aliveYeah, I remember that too. The pic was pretty gross.
