Diso Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 Cause no one seems interested in anything else. I'll just post this up. On July 4th a NASA Probe hit a comet. I didn't see it myself but I know gryph did. http://www.cnn.com/2005/TECH/space/07/04/deep.impact/
Gryph Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 It was pretty cool to see the picture of the explosion right after it happened and the reaction of the NASA crew. But I was also hoping it would miss just for the fun of it.

Anyways, I think it was s huge waste for them to smash such an expensive spacecraft in order to make a big HOLE!!! I understand what their mission objectives are but coulnd't they think of a better way...meh.

Anyways, even though it's expensive, it might payoff the in near future
Rag Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 And now the Russians are pissed and say not to mess with nature.
Elazul Yagami Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 And now the Russians are pissed and say not to mess with nature.<{POST_SNAPBACK}> not to agree with the russians, and as much as i find the whole comet crashing thing interesting, still , do you honestly mean to tell me no one has the slightest bit of worry of the after effects of something like such? i mean, yes they say it's perfectly safe and yadda yadda yadda, but who knows?what if they threw the comet like 0.0001 degrees off track? anything so minute can have a huge effect later on so meh. but maybe i'm just looking into it too much.
