Iso to cue...

Recommended Posts

A CUE file is not the same as an ISO. A cue simply tells the burning program how to burn a specific image.

Here is my example that I did for my Radiant Silvergun image:

FILE "RADIANT SILVERGUN.ISO" BINARY
 TRACK 01 MODE1/2048
   INDEX 01 00:00:00
   POSTGAP 00:02:00
FILE "RAD02.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 02 AUDIO
   PREGAP 00:02:00
   INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD03.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 03 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD04.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 04 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD05.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 05 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD06.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 06 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD07.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 07 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD08.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 08 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD09.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 09 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD10.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 10 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD11.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 11 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD12.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 12 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD13.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 13 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD14.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 14 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD15.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 15 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD16.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 16 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD17.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 17 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD18.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 18 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00
FILE "RAD19.WAV" WAVE
 TRACK 19 AUDIO
  INDEX 01 00:00:00

So track one is almost without exception MODE1/2048 with a postgap of 2 seconds (only if the image has audio tracks as well). The second audio track has a pregap of 2 seconds, since there has to be a noticeable change when switching from a data track to an audio track. The following tracks don't have postgap or pregap.

This general CUE file works with IMG, BIN, and ISO. Alcohol uses its own type of images and description sheets, and doesn't do other types (the last time I checked anyways). If you don't want to make CUE files by hand, try Sega CUE Maker, but it doesn't always make things right.
