Weirdy Posted July 17, 2005 Posted July 17, 2005 do you have the option for displaying hidden folders set to enabled? if so, there are some folders in the windows directory that have back ups of important system filese on one of mine I found regedit.exe check yours
Neptune Posted July 19, 2005 Posted July 19, 2005 Regedit.com sounds like a virus to me...last I checked regedit was just regedit.exe always has been...don't remember a.com version except maybe back in win95/98 days

COMs were widely used back in the day when DOS was "the" OS. Like most people said already, if you spot a COM file in your computer, it's most likely a virus (although there are exceptions).
