Gryph
It's surprising how long it's been since a new Windows has come out. I read some stuff on Slashdot that in order to display some DRM protected stuff you need a special DRM enabled monitor to watch it. If that's the case then flock it. ken_cinder
Yeah, every piece of hardware is going to be "key and sandbox" crap. If the software doesn't accept your hardware, you're SOL. Same goes the other way around. It's going to be like having one big ass security dongle for a PC.

BlackKnight
I'm always looking for a new toy and a new way to do things, so I'm all up for Vista whenever it arrives. Personally doesn't seem like all that big an upgrade to worry about it.

i l l m a t i c
Microsoft may be in trouble for naming its forthcoming operating system Vista after it transpired that the name has been registered by an American company for nearly six years. Vista, which operates a small business internet interchange, is actually based in Microsoft's home town of Redmond. It was started in May 2000 by John Wall, the founder of Wall Data and an erstwhile investor in SCO."We are going to consider our options and talk to Microsoft," Wall told The Seattle Times. Vista has not yet filed suit against the software giant.Microsoft announced the new name for its operating system on Friday and said that the first beta code would be available on 3 August. "There is no more Longhorn; it is now officially Windows Vista," said Kevin Johnson, group vice president of Microsoft's worldwide sales, marketing and services. Hopefully they'll change the name...
