unholydoragon
hi, im just wondering how to format a vmu. do you have to use metal gear solid? and can the formatted vmu work with any game?
Z-Neo
you can do it from the dreamcast menu, with no game inserted. Just power up the DC and go into the VMU settings.

Agozer
Yes, it can nly be formatted once. If you want to removes saves, select one file or multiple files and choose Delete.
unholydoragon
will removing saves be the same as formatting? will bleem games work if i format a vmu?
Agozer
Formatting = erazing everything and writing a new filesystem. So yes, deleting every save on the VMU yields the same result as formatting the VMU. As for Bleem, I'm the wrong person to help you on that. unholydoragon
so if i memory reset bleem with metal gear solid should work right?
Shibathedog
You could try currupting the VMU and then it gives you the option to reformat...but theres really no point just keep saving stuff and removing the VMU while its saving, but usually only that save gets currupted
