well..ok, on the ie header there should be something that says "help" or something similar to help

 

to the left of "help" should be something similar to "tools"

 

in the "tools" menu there should be something about add-ons

 

go in there and disable the genuine thingie

I seem to recall from my work computer (win2000) that the genuine advantage could be removed through the add/remove programs applet in the control panel.

 

Could be wrong about that tho'

I don't see it on mine in XP, and even if you could......that wouldn't help any, IE would just download it again. Disabling it, it's still there, just not functional.

microsft already make billions of dollar's and lets just say 1 out of every 50 copies of xp is copied i mean geez

If I turn off the Windows Updates will that bring any harm to my OS or will it still run fine?

My Windows Update has ALWAYS been turned off. I only install updates manually.
