I've watched with interest, a new Front-End called SlaunchXP.

The home page is entirely in Japanese, fortunately I found a thread on the Mameworld forum which explains things somewhat.

It's a pretty darn good frontend. The first combo box on the top left allows you to choose your hardware (read: console), currently selected is the Super Famicom mode. It also allows you to choose your emulator with the combo box to its right, currently chosen is "Unofficial SNES9x". We can see our game listing below the both of them, along with a neat game area at top right (currently playing: "Fire Emblem - Torakia 776"). Some other neat features line the bottom right. Found this shot at the same link.

Rather neat in my opinion, even though I'm not a hardcore frontend user myself.

Arcade abilities confirmed. Menu two, option two, suboption three...

Holy crap. Also confirmed a lot of other goodies, for those interested in a bit of info about this frontend as a whole, read on...

The second menu, first option enables you to give names to and locations for five ROM folders, the choices are in the same format as those for what is below. For those who have more than five, the interface is divided into pages, so you can enter the next page, or flip back to the previous with the click of a button. How many are supported... seemingly an infinite supply, so even the most die hard ROM organizer can fit their collection into here.

The second menu, second option configures your emulator stuff, from what to use to command line options and other neat stuff.

The last option allows you to fully configure, bend, and tweak the frontend to your desires.

Under the second menu, second option, first suboption, you can see a nice list of consoles you can plug into this: Family Computer (Famicom), Super Famicom, Nintendo 64, PC Engine, Master System, MegaDrive, PlayStation. Under the second suboption is a nice list of handhelds: Game Boy, Game Boy Advance, Game Gear, Wonderswan, Neo Geo Pocket, Lynx. Under the third suboption is the only Arcade emulator supported right now is MAME (you can see them talking about MAME in the BBS link posted at beginning of thread). Suboption number four features the Computer option, you can elect from the MSX, X68000/X68K, PC-88, and PC-98. There is in the fifth suboption a total of no less than five slots for user-definable emulators, and the last choice there is the "Others".
